Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is facing a long-running corruption trial, has submitted an official request to the country's president to pardon him. In a video statement, Mr Netanyahu, who is the only sitting prime minister in Israeli history to stand trial, said the case had divided the country and a pardon would help restore national unity. He also said the requirement to appear in court three times a week is a distraction that makes it difficult for him to lead the country.

A robber who fatally kicked, punched and stamped on a pensioner before stealing his box of cornflakes and a cottage pie has been jailed for life. John Mackey, 87, was targeted by unemployed Peter Augustine, 59, after he visited a Co-op store in Manor House, north London, on the afternoon of May 6. Augustine was convicted of murder and robbery by a jury at the Old Bailey earlier this month and was sentenced on Friday to life imprisonment, with a minimum term of 23 years. He was also sentenced for a theft charge that was dealt with at a magistrates’ court.

In an hour I will be doing a full review and breakdown of the speech given my the Jewish commentator Melanie Phillips at a conference organised by Jews, for Jews. This speech is candid and she is so open about how she views both Jews, Muslims and the West. What's more, I am 100 per cent sure that if a White Briton stood up and spoke in the same way as she does and used the terms she does, they would be arrested immediately.
