40 years ago today, the ANC's armed wing, uMkhonto weSizwe, killed 5 white civilians and injured 61 more after a bomb was detonated on a busy high street in Amanzimtoti, south of Durban, as they were doing their last minute Christmas shopping: • Willem Arie van Wyk (2) • Isabella Margretha van Wyk (5) • Johan Smit (8) • Irma Bencini (48) • Anna Shearer (43) The ANC considers the perpetrator, Andrew Zondo, a national hero and several roads, as well as a primary school, have been named in his "honour" @SouthAfricaReports

🇿🇦🇺🇸 Doxing and Harassment of American Officials by the South African Government The U.S. condemns in the strongest terms the South African government’s recent detention of U.S. officials performing their duties to provide humanitarian support to Afrikaners. Furthermore, the public release of our U.S. officials’ passport information is an unacceptable form of harassment. This can only be seen as an attempt to intimidate U.S. government personnel in South Africa on official business. The United States will not tolerate such behavior toward its government’s officials – or toward any of its citizens – who are legally and peacefully operating abroad. The public release of personal identifying information puts the official in harm’s way. Failure by the South African Government to hold those responsible accountable will result in severe consequences. We call on the Government of South Africa to take immediate action to bring this situation under control and hold those responsible accountable. 📎 US Department of State

🇿🇦❌🇺🇸 Head of AfriForum, Kallie Kriel, confirms on X that Afrikaner refugees were intimidated by the South African authorities: "I personally spoke to one of those who were intimidated. She told me they were threatened with the words, “We now know who you are,” and mocked with, “Ah, shame, so many whities fleeing.” She further stated that she, her family, and others were continuously filmed while walking to their cars, in an effort to intimidate them." 📎 Kallie Kriel

🇿🇦🇺🇸 Joost Strydom on Facebook: "What a privilege! To be able to represent our community in the United States. This time before the select audience of the New York Young Republicans' extremely formal annual gala. In the audience; members of the US House of Representatives, conservative Members of Parliament from the European Parliament, Members of the Italian and German Parliaments, the organizers of CPAC and various conservative, supportive and welcoming Americans! My choice; a quote from Piet Uys that I found in "Die Skepping van Boer-identiteit" [The Creation of Boer Identity]: "We aim to establish our Republic on the same principles as those of the United States". How appropriate! Then Ernst Roets, in front of the international audience, repeated our People's Vow to God of December 16, 1838. What a huge privilege! Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible! FREEDOM IN OUR TIME! To God be all the Glory." 📎 Joost Strydom

🇿🇦❌🇺🇸 The South African Department of Home Affairs (DHA) released a statement announcing that they arrested seven Kenyan nationals who were working at the US refugee processing centre while only in possession of tourist visas. The DHA described the Afrikaners seeking refuge from the violent attacks directed at white South Africans as 'so-called "refugees"'. The Department also mockingly said that this raid shows a shared commitment with the United States to combat "illegal immigration and visa abuse". @SouthAfricaReports

🇿🇦🇺🇸 South Africa briefly held US government personnel on refugee assignment amid fraught relationship The South African government briefly held, then released, two US government employees on assignment in South Africa as part of the Trump administration’s bid to admit Afrikaners to the United States, according to multiple sources familiar with the situation. The incident appeared to mark an escalation in the already-tenuous relationship between the United States and South Africa, which has rejected the premise of the Trump administration’s push to admit White South Africans as refugees. It also revealed some of the hiccups and hurdles US personnel have faced in the administration’s unprecedented focus on Afrikaners. It isn’t clear why the US employees were questioned. The US government is “seeking immediate clarification from the South African government” and it expects “full cooperation and accountability,” State Department principal deputy spokesperson Tommy Pigott told CNN on Tuesday. “We’ll have more to say once all the facts are confirmed, but the Trump Administration will always stand up for US interests, US personnel, and the rule of law,” he said. “Interfering in our refugee operations is unacceptable.” https://edition.cnn.com/2025/12/16/politics/south-africa-afrikaner-us-refugees

Vandaag is het Geloftedag in Zuid-Afrika Op 16 december herdenkt men in Zuid-Afrika Geloftedag.

The 16th of December marks the anniversary of the Battle of Blood River, where a small group of Boers, numbering less than 500, successfully defended themselves against a larger force of Zulus estimated to be between 15,000 and 30,000 in size. Despite being heavily outnumbered, the Boers emerged victorious with only three injuries, while the Zulus suffered thousands of deaths. Before the battle, the Boers made a vow to God, promising to build a church and observe the day of their victory as an annual Sabbath if God protected them and delivered the enemy into their hands. Since then, the Boers have celebrated the 16th of December as the Day of the Vow (Geloftedag) to honor this promise. The Battle of Blood River and the preceding Vow are significant to the Boer people as they symbolize the origin myth of the Boer volk, who overcame great adversity and conquered harsh terrain through faith in God. @SouthAfricaReports

🇿🇦 The City of Cape Town has announced plans to invest R180 million in the construction of a security wall along sections of the N2 highway, particularly near Cape Town International Airport, in a bid to curb violent crime targeting motorists. Public pressure for stronger safety measures has intensified following several high-profile incidents, including the murder of Karin van Aardt, a retired teacher who was fatally stabbed during a smash-and-grab attack while travelling on the N2 with her husband. 📝 Cape Town International Airport is surrounded by the most dangerous neighbourhoods in South Africa. 📎 Dot distribution of murders in Cape Town 📎 https://archive.is/WPNpD

🇺🇸🇿🇦 Joost Strydom writes: '"HOW CAN WE PRAY FOR YOU?" This is what the Texas Young Republicans asked me after my speech on Orania and the Afrikaners' situation. I was so ready to answer "political" questions, I was almost blown away... The Texas Young Republicans and the Plano Young Republicans invited me to Fort Worth Texas to speak on our cause. As I prepared for the conversation, I saw that Fort Worth is known as the place "where the West begins". A memory from a pioneer era. The last piece of civilization, the last military fort. Cross that line, and you are in dangerous territory. Territory where Western legal systems and morality were not yet the standard. Men of courage and daring have crossed the line, men who through the ages have been known as heroes and are now suddenly "villains". I received a bottle of organic honey from one member, from his own hives. Another currently farms cattle with his wife and six children but is thinking of starting to farm goats, and another has Huguenot ancestry. Does this sound familiar? These are our people. I felt at home. How can we pray for you? I just asked for the safety of our people. And that Afrikaners' eyes would be opened to quick solutions, and that we would not fall for blinders. But I don't think I needed to say that. I think they understood anyway.' 🔗 Joost Strydom

In Support of the Volkstaat: A Holistic American Policy in South Africa America's policy toward South Africa is only half complete. Granting refugee status to Afrikaners protects individuals, but not the ethnic group. American diplomats must back the creation of an Afrikaner Volkstaat. 🔗 Read on Substack here. 🔗 Or on our website here. 🔗 Follow us on X

🇺🇸🇿🇦 The Newest V.I.P.s at the U.S. Embassy in South Africa? Afrikaners. The New York Times writes that Trump has embraced the "Afrikaners' cause" more than any of his predecessors.
Afrikaners have had access to American officials as never before, both in Washington and in Pretoria. They are invited to social gatherings in South Africa, where they can bend the ears of U.S. Embassy staff. They encounter American diplomats and lawmakers seeking feedback on policy proposals, and meet with White House officials in Washington, potentially influencing the administration’s views on South Africa.

🇿🇦❌🇺🇸🇵🇱 Poland to Join US-Hosted G-20 Summit as South Africa Is Shunned The US is inviting Poland to the next Group of 20 summit — and plans to shun South Africa — when President Donald Trump hosts the forum of the largest global economies in 2026, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said. Rubio praised Poland’s partnership with the US as well as American companies to promote mutual growth since emerging from Communism in 1989, a success he said was “proof that a focus on the future is a better path than one on grievances.” In a post on the State Department Substack, the secretary painted a sharp contrast with South Africa, which he criticized for redistributionist policies and burdensome regulation:
The numbers speak for themselves. As South Africa’s economy has stagnated under its burdensome regulatory regime driven by racial grievance, and it falls firmly outside the group of the 20 largest industrialized economies. Rather than take responsibility for its failings, the radical ANC-led South African government has sought to scapegoat its own citizens and the United States. As President Trump has rightly highlighted, the South African government’s appetite for racism and tolerance for violence against its Afrikaner citizens have become embedded as core domestic policies. It seems intent on enriching itself while the country’s economy limps along, all while South Africans are subject to violence, discrimination, and land confiscation without compensation.

🇿🇦 Farm Murder - 29 November 2025 A 77-year-old farmer, Attie Mahne, was murdered during a violent farm attack in Baltimore, Limpopo, South Africa. His wife, Pietro Mahne, suffered serious injuries during the incident and was urgently transported to Ellisras Hospital for critical care. Police reports indicate the event took place on Saturday afternoon. The couple resided on the farm, and the attack is believed to have started when two armed men invaded their home while Attie Mahne was outside tending to his cattle. Upon his return and discovery of the intruders, he was coerced back inside, brutally assaulted, and tied up. Both he and his wife sustained severe injuries before the attackers escaped. @SouthAfricaReports
