A long post, but worth the read. Here is my assessment why China will lose against the U.S. and why Trump’s tariffs will bring Xi to the negotiating table: The U.S. holds economic advantages over China. First, the U.S. has a larger and more diversified economy. With a GDP significantly higher than China's—estimated at around $28 trillion for the U.S. versus $18 trillion for China in nominal terms—the U.S. has a broader base of domestic consumption and production to cushion against trade disruptions. The U.S. is less reliant on exports overall, with exports accounting for about 11% of its GDP, compared to roughly 20% for China. This lower dependence means tariffs have a less severe impact on the U.S. economy as a whole. Second, the U.S. is a critical market for Chinese exports, providing significant leverage. China sends approximately $440 billion in goods annually to the U.S., representing about 16% of its total exports. In contrast, U.S. exports to China are around $150 billion, or roughly 7% of total U.S. exports. China has more to lose if trade flows are disrupted. The U.S. can impose high tariffs—currently averaging 125% on Chinese goods following recent escalations—knowing that China’s retaliatory tariffs, now at 84% on U.S. goods, hit a smaller volume of trade and thus have a less pronounced effect on the U.S. economy. Third, the U.S. has greater flexibility to source imports from alternative markets. While China is a major supplier of manufactured goods like electronics and machinery, the U.S. has been diversifying its supply chains, with countries like Vietnam, Mexico, and India increasingly filling gaps left by reduced Chinese imports. China, however, struggles to replace the U.S. market due to its sheer size and purchasing power. Fourth, the U.S. dollar’s status as the world’s reserve currency amplifies its economic influence. Tariffs and trade policies can strengthen the dollar by reducing imports and boosting domestic production, even temporarily. A stronger dollar increases the cost of U.S. goods for China but also makes Chinese exports less competitive globally if the yuan weakens in response—which it has, depreciating by about 5% against the dollar. This dynamic gives the U.S. an edge in controlling the terms of trade. Finally, China faces slowing growth, a property sector crisis, and high local government debt, limiting its ability to stimulate its economy effectively against tariff pressures. The U.S., meanwhile, has used tariffs to protect key industries like steel, autos, and semiconductors, to revive manufacturing jobs and reduce reliance on Chinese overproduction, which has flooded global markets with cheap goods. The U.S.’s economic size, market leverage, supply chain adaptability, currency power, and China’s internal constraints position it to withstand and outmaneuver China in this trade standoff. And in the world of negotiations, Trump has the clear advantage. Believe it. For the Republic! Cheers.

Good morning, and happy Sunday! As of April 6, 2025, several countries have reportedly reached out to the Trump administration to begin negotiations on trade in response to his tariff policy. At least 9 countries have either clearly initiated negotiations or shown signs of engagement with the White House. These countries are: 1. Vietnam 2. South Korea 3. Thailand 4. Japan 5. Canada 6. Mexico 7. United Kingdom (U.K.) 8. India 9. Australia Evidence of the obvious is sufficient: TARIFFS WORK! Believe it. For the Republic! Cheers.

Today, in Topeka and state capitals throughout the Republic, there were pre-scripted, pre-planned and pre-orchestrated protests. Liberals regularly claim to be the party of coexisting and Peace, but their gatherings are always echoing with violent rhetoric. They call the Trump administration a “hostile takeover” and demand a “forceful rejection” of the current leadership. “Hostile takeover” isn’t the language of peaceful assembly. It’s the language of regime change. Radical liberals don’t view America as the land of exceptionalism and God-given freedoms, but, rather, as something illegitimate and dangerous. As the demonstrations continue, the crowd gets worked up, and the rhetoric gets darker: “We must meet this moment with mass mobilization!” “Stop the MAGA takeover of our government!” “All hands on deck to stop the fascist threat!” Behind the scenes, and orchestrating the national and coordinated events, or groups, such as MoveOn and Working Families. These groups provided signage and verbiage and tips on how to avoid being tracked. These were not spontaneous protests. They were the product of intense planning, weekly organization calls, tool kits, coordinated/provided travel, pre-printed signage, and funding from high level radical liberal members of the Democrat hierarchy. We, as conservatives, counter, measure these things with determined prayer and determined patriotism — neither of which include any form or fashion of violence or violent rhetoric. Together, we’re going to bring Kansas and the Republic back from the brink of this radical liberal madness. Believe it. For the Republic. For Kansas! Cheers.
