🎥 If you use FaceTime, please wear clothes
😯 It has been discovered that FaceTime in the iOS 26 beta suspends video calls if there is a naked person in the frame. The suspended call can either be resumed or ended.
🤔 This feature was originally designed for children's accounts. It is unclear whether it will work for all accounts or if this is simply a beta bug.
iOS 26 is expected to be released in September.

🤑 IT specialists have become more expensive than football players
💰 Zuckerberg has finally lured Apple's head of AI development away for a crazy $200 million, reports Mark Gurman.
📰 Ruoming Peng, head of Apple's foundation models team, has joined Meta's new team, Superintelligence Labs.
🥴 Apple did not try to beat Meta's offer. Even Tim Cook's annual bonus is almost three times less.

📰 Apple's design team moves under Tim Cook's control
ℹ️ Apple just announced that Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams will step down at the end of this month. He will be replaced by Sabih Khan, who currently serves as Senior Vice President of Operations.
📆 But what's most interesting is that Williams has also led the design team since 2019. This happened after Apple's chief designer, Jony Ive, left the company.
🙄 Williams will officially retire at the end of this year. After that, the design team will report directly to Tim Cook.

📰 The entire @iPhone 17 lineup was shown in one photo
📱 Insider Majin Bu compared the devices with each other.
🔎 The base iPhone 17 is almost identical to the 16th, and there will be no Plus version this year. In the iPhone 17 Pro, the signature Apple logo has been “moved” due to the new camera block — now it is not in the center of the body, but lower.
🆕 The iPhone 17 Air stands out. It has a unique camera module and is almost twice as thin as other smartphones.
There are about two months left until the release. Looking forward to!

🤳 The foldable iPad has been suspended, but the foldable iPhone is coming
It is already at the first stage of internal testing.
📰 According to Digitimes, Apple was considering releasing a foldable iPad or similar device with a diagonal screen size of 18.8 inches, along with a foldable iPhone. However, it has now decided to suspend development of the large foldable device due to manufacturing difficulties, increased costs, particularly in terms of flexible display technology, and relatively low demand for such large foldable devices.
📆 Meanwhile, the foldable iPhone, scheduled for launch in the second half of 2026, is already at the Prototype 1 (P1) stage, which is the first of three stages (followed by P2 and P3) in which Apple and its partners are creating fully functional devices. If everything goes according to plan, the project could complete full prototype testing by the end of 2025 and move on to the engineering verification testing (EVT) phase in 2026.

🍎 Apple is moving
👂 Sonny Dickson shared a fresh layout of the Apple logo on the back of the iPhone 17 Pro, which he says will be slightly lower. An updated MagSafe ring design is also expected.
🧲 This coincides with insider information from Majin Bu. He reports that the new MagSafe layout in the iPhone 17 Pro will require a slight recalibration of the magnetic field to prevent minor interference.
📰 Initial feedback from accessory manufacturers indicates that existing MagSafe accessories will remain compatible. Many have already begun manufacturing new MagSafe rings with new holes to highlight the shifted logo.

🎙 Apple unveiled a brand-new state-of-the-art studio space in LA
It is dedicated to artist-driven content, innovation in audio, and deeper fan connection.
📰 As Apple Music marks its 10th anniversary this year, Apple unveils its most ambitious creative project to date: a brand-new state-of-the-art studio space in Los Angeles. A three-story, over-15,000-square-foot (1393 m²) facility that includes: radio studios, soundstage, Spatial Audio mixing room, photo and social media lab and more.
🎵 Apple Music is also launching Replay All Time, a special version of the annual Replay experience that allows listeners to see and stream the songs they’ve played the most since joining Apple Music (sometimes it can be surprising and even scary what music you listened to back to 2016, for example).

🤪 Siri – Apple's unfortunate 'child'
📰 Apple is considering using AI technology from Anthropic PBC or OpenAI to power a new version of Siri, potentially sidelining its own in-house models.
🧐 The company has talked with both Anthropic and OpenAI about using their large language models for Siri, and has asked them to train versions of their models that could run on Apple's cloud infrastructure for testing.
🤔 If Apple moves forward with using third-party models, it would represent a significant reversal and an acknowledgment that the company is struggling to compete in generative AI, and could allow Apple to offer Siri features on par with AI assistants on Android phones.

🥽 Have we forgotten about Vision Pro?
Apple is still working on them!
📆 Ming-Chi Kuo shared his data with a plan for 2025–2028 for Apple Vision and smart glasses. According to him, Apple will not release any completely new head-mounted devices in 2026, as several products are planned for 2027.
👓 Apple sees head-mounted devices as the next big trend in electronics. The company is currently developing at least seven projects, including three Apple Vision series products and four smart glasses options. Five of these products have confirmed development timelines, while two remain unknown.
I believe—and I doubt anyone would disagree—that Apple could build the best Meta Ray-Ban–like smart glasses on the market. Yet its decision-making in this area has been surprisingly slow. Putting AI aside for a moment, this category could cannibalize at least some AirPods demand, directly impacting Apple’s hardware business. Still, the company has remained conspicuously inactive. Apple has historically excelled at creating entirely new product categories and courageously cannibalizing its own products. To describe an Apple product as "Ray-Ban-like smart glasses" seems almost like an insult to a company of Apple's stature. Yet ironically, this remains the most objective way to describe the current state of the industry. But better late than never. Moreover, Apple's renewed push for hardware innovation is undoubtedly good news for the supply chain.– Ming-Chi Kuo. #VisionPro #rumors @iPhone

📰 Apple wants to create its own movie theater distribution agency
🏎 Amid the high-profile launch of Apple Original Films' “F1,” the company is considering creating its own distribution arm, the WSJ reports.
🧮 Right now, Apple doesn't distribute movies directly. That's delegated to its big movie partner Warner Bros. Pictures, who manage the global release of movies, including “F1.” However, their share of revenue increases in proportion to total ticket sales and Apple wants to earn more. To do so and are looking at ways to operate without any restrictions on their own.

🕙 A former Apple engineer explains why the Snooze button on Clock is so big and the Stop button is tiny
😴 At Apple, we found that when both buttons are the same size, people were 30% more likely to oversleep. During testing, we had a version of Clock that logged all touch gestures into a heat map. 🔎 It was recording where our sleepy hands were smacking around on the screen in order to see how accurate we were in turning off the alarms. It turns out we are pretty shit at it. 👍 Snoozing an alarm means you get another chance to try waking up again in a few minutes so it’s low risk. By making the button the stop button such a small hit target, it ensures you’re awake enough to actually stop it.#apps @iPhone

👝 iPhone users aren't happy about Apple promoting 'F1 Movie' with Wallet app notification
Sometimes, indeed, Apple's ads for movies and TV series are so aggressive that it feels like you're literally being “forced” to watch - as was the case with their “Severance” series.
📰 Apple sent out an ad to some iPhone users in the form of a Wallet app push notification – movie ticket company Fandango is offering on a pair of tickets to Apple's new film "F1: The Movie."
🤬 iPhone users who received the notifications have complained about it across Reddit, 𝕏, and other online discussion platforms. Some people are especially upset about receiving a push notification ad through the Wallet app because it is a very important app for personal finances, so simply turning off notifications for the entire app is not a feasible solution.
ℹ️ iOS 26 beta adds an "Offers & Promotions" toggle to the Wallet app, allowing users to opt in or out of receiving special offers and discounts available from Apple and its unspecified partners. However, Apple sent out to the push notification ad to iPhone users on iOS 18 too, and those users seemingly did not explicitly opt in to receive such an ad. For that reason, some people are disappointed in Apple.#ApplePromo #AppleTV @iPhone
