📱 The entire iPhone 17 lineup will feature new battery adhesives 🪛 Apple has already started using an adhesive (glue) that loosens when low current is applied, making it easier to repair, but only in the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus models. The 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max models use a regular adhesive that has been used before. ⌚ It's likely that Apple will use such adhesive in its other devices at a later date, but the Apple Watch Series 10, for example, also uses regular adhesive for now. 📱 It's also not yet known whether the base iPhones will get metal-cased batteries. 🤖 Apple aims to take one more important niche in the tech market 🔉 Now Apple is more in the catching-up position in the Smart Home market, but now, the company has plans to become a popular product in the home sphere. 🚗 A Home Ecosystem team is being set up within the company, with several engineers from Apple's closed automotive project already moving in. 🏠 The main distinguishing features of such devices are planned to support Matter (system that combine different smart devices into a single network) and Apple Intelligence. There are also plans to relaunch software for such devices, namely a separate homeOS platform that will be built on top of tvOS. 🦾 The first device the company plans to launch based on these technologies will be a kind of HomePod with a square display and camera. Later, the company will release a more expensive version of HomePod with a robotic “arm” and a display that looks like one of the legendary iMacs.

Apple needs a win here. Right now, nobody has truly mastered the smart home market. But at some point, someone will. If the right pieces fall into place, it could — and should — be Apple itself.

📰 Mark Gurman explains how the new Macbook Pro M4 got into the hands of the blogger before the official Event 💻 In a long fresh article on Bloomberg, Mark Gurman confirms that a recent Youtube video indeed unboxed the yet-to-be-announced product. He explains how this could have happened:

Apple’s new MacBook Pro indeed shows up in Russia weeks before announcement. Scores of unannounced M4 MacBook Pros — ready for retail sale — got into the wrong hands overseas and appeared on a pair of Russian YouTube channels. I can confirm that these are indeed Apple’s upcoming M4 MacBook Pros. And given that Apple has shut off its sales to Russia, I believe these were stolen elsewhere in Europe before being sent to the country. How did this happen before the product was even announced? Well, Apple wants to be able to get devices into the hands of consumers as soon as possible after introduction. So it spends weeks filling up warehouses in many parts of the world ahead of time. There are also thousands of unannounced new iMacs and Mac minis out there as well (they just haven’t popped up on YouTube). I expect the new Mac models to begin going on sale around Nov. 1. Apple should be unveiling them in the next few weeks, in line with plans I reported several months ago.

🧠 Apple is expanding its U.S. chip production 📰 Thanks to cooperation with two key partners – TSMC (the most valuable Asian company with capitalization of $538 billion) and packaging company Amkor, Apple plans to significantly expand chip production in the United States. 🤝 The partners have agreed to work together to improve chip manufacturing, packaging and testing at Amkor's new plant in Arizona. The partnership includes a $2 billion investment that will create more than 2,000 jobs. The joint production facility will utilize TSMC's wafer fabrication capabilities in Phoenix and Amkor's fab. 🇺🇸 This collaboration supports Apple's desire to localize production domestically and reduce dependence on foreign markets. 🔮 The mysterious iPhone 17 is going to appear on the rumor mill more and more often There's still time before Apple Intelligence is fully launched and the iPhone 16 rumors are no longer relevant, only new survey data shows high iPhone ownership and growing interest in Apple Intelligence despite a slight drop in demand for the iPhone 16 (oh those 60Hz). Meanwhile, Majin Bu is already busy predicting possible color options for the iPhone 17 Pro. He writes:

🔜 The new M4-based Macs and iPad mini 7 will launch as early as November 1 🍎 Apple will introduce six new devices: ・14-inch MacBook Pro on the base M4 ・MacBook Pro on the M4 Pro and M4 Max with 14- and 16-inch displays ・24-inch iMac on the M4 ・The all-new Mac mini on the M4 and M4 Pro ・Updated iPad mini 📰 According to Bloomberg the devices will go on sale as early as November 1. This means that the presentation (if it takes place) will take place between October 19 and 22 (Apple usually holds presentations on Tuesdays, so October 19 can be expected). 🫥 It's also reported that Apple will continue to spread the device refresh cycle over a period of every few years to more models, as it already does with some iPads and the Apple Watch. Although right now Apple updates some Mac models even more frequently than once a year (for example, the MacBook Pro based on the M3 Pro/M3 Max came out just 9 months after the models based on the M2 Pro/M2 Max). 📱 Apple has revealed the trailer for “Submerged” – the first movie created for Apple Immersive Video mode in the Vision Pro headset from director Edward Berger (“All Quiet on the Western Front ”). 🥽 The film is set during World War II and tells the story of a group of sailors on a submarine trying to survive a torpedo attack. 🔜 Release on October 10. @iPhone #VisionPro #AppleTV

💻 MacBook Pro with M4 chip ducked before release or not 😳 Foreign media is in shock. Mark Gurman published a post on 𝕏:

Unconfirmed but looks fairly legitimate: a Russian YouTube channel claims to have the yet to be announced M4 MacBook Pro and gave it a full unboxing and hands-on. We’ve seen prototypes leak early but never a full retail Apple device weeks in advance.

💻 A blogger was the first to post an unboxing video of the new 16/512GB version of the new MacBook M4 14” and show what's inside. 🔌 Externally, the box hasn't changed at all, the early photos seem to be true – the pattern is still the same. There are no logo stickers inside now either. And the white power adapter has a green arrow on the factory foil, which was not there before. On the right side of the case, there is another Thunderbolt 4 port on the base version as well. The rest of the design is the same. 👨‍🏫 The MacBook Pro comes pre-installed with macOS 15.0 (24A8332), which means the build is different from the release version. This model, codenamed Mac16.1 (A3112), has a base version of the M4 chip (10 CPU cores / 10 GPU cores) which shows the following numbers in Geekbench: ・Single-Core: 3864 ・Multi-Core: 15288 For comparison, the base M3: ・Single-Core: 3082 ・Multi-Core: 11584 🤔 It is not known how the blogger got the new MacBook Pro before the official release, but the same Gurman urges caution and watch the video more carefully. 📱 The rumored update to the iPhone SE is getting closer to production 🔜 It will probably be joined by the new iPad Air in early 2025. After the release of the iPhone 16, the rumor mill's attention now turns to the iPhone SE. The model that hasn't been updated since its March 2022 third-gen release is due an upgrade, which is believed to happen early in 2025. 📱 The model is likely to include a lot of changes: it could be based on the iPhone 14's design, the display could finally make the upgrade to OLED instead of LCD, with a 6.1-inch edge-to-edge screen expected. It may also use a newer processor like the A18, in order to run Apple Intelligence. 📲 An update to the 11-inch and 13-inch iPads Air are on the cards, albeit one involving "internal improvements." It's not clear what chips the iPad Air will use, but they say that new accessories will be inbound. The other day it became known that Tim cashed in 223,986 Apple shares worth $50,276,076 (excluding taxes), the report on the procedure has already been published by United States Securities and Exchange Commission. 💰 At the same time, the head of Apple still has a lot of shares in his portfolio, totaling more than $500 million.
