Let us talk vaginas shall we? Right up there! Gals…an honest question. When you go for a cervical smear, your cervix is scraped. That leaves raw tissue, a wound that has to heal. Are you told to avoid intercourse for 8 weeks afterwards to allow proper healing? No. You are not! So what happens if healing tissue is irritated, inflamed, or disrupted? By semen, spermicides, any thing you decide to put ‘up there’ You may later be told you have “abnormal cells” which can then lead to more tests, more procedures, even a cone biopsy. Now ask yourself gals… Is this about health… or is it about screening and treatment, which conveniently generate money? Screening makes money and treatment makes even more money. So ask thE questions. Are you being given all the information? Could screening be causing harm? Are you being supported to heal or pushed into a cycle of intervention? I’m not telling you not to have a smear . Just THINK And one final thing… Do not have intercourse after a smear! Wait 8 weeks!
