Detailed Scope of Services and Instructions
The selected Individual Consultant will be responsible for the pedagogical design, creation, and preparation of all content components for the English curriculum (Grades 9-12, total 28 units), strictly following the Ethiopian Ministry of Education curriculum framework.
The consultant's output must comprise the following three components for each of the 28 units:
A. Summary Video Scripts & On-Screen Presentation (Instructional Video Content)
- Script Development: Develop detailed, accurate, and engaging video scripts covering all key concepts of the unit. The scripts must be exam-focused, concise, and structured for optimal video production.
- On-Screen Presentation: The consultant must serve as the primary on-screen educator and presenter for the video recording sessions, which will take place at Minab IT Solutions' facility in Addis Ababa.
- Instructional Approach: The videos should focus on exam preparation, common pitfalls, and effective study techniques relevant to national examinations.
B. Short Notes (PDF Reference Material)
- Create comprehensive, exam-focused PDF reference materials for each unit.
- The notes must summarize key concepts, include relevant examples, common exceptions, and provide practical exam preparation ideas.
C. Assessment Tools (Quizzes)
- Develop 30 high-quality assessment questions per unit (totaling 840 questions across all 28 units).
- The quiz questions must be multiple-choice or short-answer format, accurately reflecting the style, difficulty, and scope of Ethiopian national examinations (Grades 10 and 12).
- Each question must be accompanied by the correct answer and a brief explanation/rationale.
- Specific English Content Requirements (Grades 9-12):
The content must cover and align with national standards for:
- Reading comprehension skills relevant to exam passages.
- Grammar and vocabulary at appropriate grade levels.
- Writing skills including essay, paragraph, and report writing.
- Communication and general language skills development.
