After the shock in early December, when ETH was at 4k and BTC reached an all-time high, the altcoin market was heavily pushed down. At that time, we saw new projects listed on Binance and other top-tier exchanges with very high market caps (mostly above 300M), which was considered an inflated and unrealistic valuation for new projects. Therefore, the market naturally had to correct everything back to its reasonable inherent levels.
Now we are seeing new listings with more appropriate market caps, mostly under 50M — which is considered a “suitable” number for growth potential. However, there are still many overvalued projects. At present, ETH is approaching its 2021 peak, and traders are concerned about a correction at this level, so the capital has not really flowed into altcoins yet.
However, when ETH sets a new all-time high, I’m certain the entire market will explode, and we will likely see an altseason.
