Ireland's state broadcaster RTE is producing a television series which argues the Irish are "hybrids and mongrels" and never homogeneous. The series consultant and co-author of an upcoming book on this is Jane Ohlmeyer. Not a very Irish name! Ohlmeyer previously wrote an article arguing the Irish should feel colonial guilt got their role in the British Empire.
