💎 Unintentional Notcoin Burn Earlier today, the Israeli hacker group Gonjeshke Darande breached Iran’s largest crypto exchange, Nobitex, stealing over $82 million. The hackers called Nobitex “a key instrument of the Iranian regime used to fund terrorism and evade sanctions.” Funds were moved to wallets on Ethereum, TRON, and TON — including 3 billion $NOT tokens sent to a wallet that no one can access — effectively burning them. That’s 3% of the total $NOT supply (~$6M) wiped out — and the token price didn’t even flinch. Ironically, the hackers burned more tokens than Notcoin itself, despite Notcoin’s goal of becoming deflationary. Nobitex claims losses will be covered by their insurance and reserve funds — but once again, this proves: CEXs aren’t a safe place to store your assets. @thenoton
