A recent report has indicated a "bizarre decision" by Israel to permit the entry of a large number of smartphones into Gaza, even as it continues to restrict other essential aid like food and shelter supplies, raising concerns among residents about potential surveillance.

The UK government is pressing ahead with reforms that would significantly curtail the right to a jury trial for thousands of cases in England & Wales. These changes are intended to tackle a record backlog of nearly 80,000 cases.  The core proposals:  A New "Crown Court Bench Division": This new division would hear "either-way" offences with a judge and two magistrates, instead of a jury. Removal of the Right to Elect a Jury Trial: Defendants currently have the right to choose a jury trial for either-way offences, but this right would be removed for certain cases, such as those with a max sentence of 2 years or less. Judge-Only Trials for Complex Cases: Sir Brian also recommended that serious and complex fraud or bribery cases, which are often lengthy and difficult for juries to understand, should be heard by a judge alone. Encouraging Early Guilty Pleas: The max sentence reduction for pleading guilty at the earliest opportunity would be increased from 30% to 40% to encourage quicker case resolutions.

Thomas Atlas - “Shackles on Me” - LIVE This cover of a Jimmie Vaughan song is in response to the UK government's requirement for initially company directors, and then presumably everyone else, in stages, to have a "One Login" Digital ID linked to their email addresses, which will tie them to all government services with one single digital email account linked to their biometric data: a "selfie", which could be used to implement a nation-wide digital social credit score in future, and to harvest data for surveillance by private corporations as well. It is overall a step further towards a dystopian digital tyranny, which if it goes too far, it can then no longer be stopped. The time to resist this path towards digital slavery is before it is fully implemented and tied to everyone's bank accounts. Biometric selfies passed onto AI powered facial recognition cameras throughout "Smart Cities" to remotely assess personal credit scores according to lifestyles and political beliefs, if not even religious beliefs, is where this all leads.
