This is the wording that the ACIP voted on. “For infants born to HBsAg-negative women: ACIP recommends individual-based decision-making, in consultation with a health care provider, for parents deciding when or if to give the HBV vaccine, including the birth dose. For those not receiving the HBV birth dose, it is suggested that the initial dose is administered no earlier than 2 months of age.” Note- this does not mean that the ACIP recommends that the dose be given at two months , as some on X are suggesting. Words matter. --- In the first sentence: “For infants born to HBsAg-negative women:ACIP recommends individual-based decision-making, in consultation with a health care provider," ... this lays out the policy. The second paragraph (which is actually a footnote) states that given the above recommendation of individual-based decision-making, a HBV neg. child shouldn't receive the dose prior to 2 months.
