Mandiant, a leading cybersecurity firm, and Google subsidiary has confirmed that the laptops used by WazirX team members during the recent $230M cyberattack were NOT COMPROMISED. This conclusion marks a crucial milestone in our ongoing investigation and reaffirms our commitment to securing our systems. The findings are the result of a rigorous and comprehensive process, which we have diligently undertaken since the attack. They have been shared with law enforcement and other investigative agencies to aid in the recovery of stolen assets. 👋 Tribe! We want to keep you informed about the measures we're taking to safeguard crypto assets on the exchange. We are in the process of migrating the remaining assets held with Liminal to new multisig wallets. This step is essential to ensure maximum security of the assets in light of recent events. While we believe our interface and systems remain uncompromised, the same cannot be said for the custodian's interface post the July 18th incident, prompting this precaution. We are exercising extreme caution in how and when we move these assets, considering the complexity involved. Although we can't provide an exact timeline, rest assured that safety of crypto assets on our exchange is our top priority. This will undo all trades carried out on the WazirX platform following the stoppage of withdrawals on 18 July 2024, at 1 PM IST. » We're working with legal experts to help us formulate an effective method for enabling withdrawals. » For our Bounty Program, we've received entries from 344 bounty hunters, including security professionals and ethical hackers, who are actively pursuing the trail of the stolen funds. » We are in touch with multiple partners to explore all possible solutions to mitigate the financial impact of the cyberattack. 📢 Important Update: FIR filed Based on a complaint filed by us on 19th July in connection with the Cyber attack on our multisig wallet, the police has taken cognizance of the matter and a FIR under BNS & IT Act has been registered on 5th August 2024 at PS Special Cell, PS Lodhi Colony, New Delhi through Intelligence Fusion & Strategic Operations, IFSO of Delhi Police. We have full faith in the investigating agency and shall cooperate with them to the fullest extent. We are actively working on recovering the stolen funds and are hopeful that those responsible will be brought to justice 🙏
