Gig workers announce nationwide strike on Dec 25 & 31
Delivery workers across Swiggy, Zomato, Zepto, Blinkit, Amazon and Flipkart will go on strike, called by platform worker unions.
Strike called by Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union and Indian Federation of App-Based Transport Workers
Key demands include fair and transparent pay, job security, safer working conditions, accident insurance, social security and pensions.
Workers are also seeking assured work allocation, mandatory rest breaks, app-level grievance redressal and a rollback of ultra-fast delivery models like 10-minute deliveries.
