The PRINCIPLE is: If you want term limits on the President then there should be term limits on Congress. However, there’s a problem with that principle. Article II Clause I Section I only says 4 years in a term. The Founders never placed anything in our Constitution that limits the terms of the President NOR does it say for Congress to do so. 1951, Congress put term limits on the President, but not their terms… imagine that. James Madison, the Author of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and many of the Federalist Papers (Promotion Papers of the Constitution) and Alexander Hamilton, author of many Federalist Papers, thought Presidents should serve as many times as elected.
