The physical market can no longer meet soaring demand.
Here is what is actually going on 👇
1. China is changing the rules.
Starting January 1, 2026, China will restrict silver exports.
To export silver, companies will now need government licenses.
Only large, state approved firms qualify:
- At least 80 tonnes of annual production
- Around $30 million in credit lines
This effectively blocks small and mid size exporters.
China controls roughly 60–70% of global silver supply. When China tightens exports, global supply drops immediately.
This is the same tactics China used with rare earth metals.
2. The silver market was already short supply.
Silver has been in a structural deficit for 5 straight years. That means demand is higher than supply every single year.
For 2025:
- Global demand: 1.24 billion ounces
- Global supply: 1.01 billion ounces
That is a gap of 100–250 million ounces. And this gap is expected to get worse after China’s export limits.
Mining supply is not growing:
Silver mining is mostly a by product of copper and zinc mining.
New mines take 10+ years to build, Ore quality is falling, Recycling is not enough to fill the gap.
There is no quick fix here.
3. Physical silver inventories are collapsing.
This is where it gets serious.
- COMEX inventories are down 70% since 2020
- London vaults are down 40%
- Shanghai inventories are at 10-year lows
At current demand, some regions hold only 30-45 days of usable silver.
This is why physical premiums are exploding.
In Shanghai:
- Physical silver trades at $80+/oz
- COMEX prices are much lower
This price gap means buyers are paying extra just to get real silver.
4. Paper silver is completely disconnected from reality.
There is an extreme imbalance between paper silver and real silver.
The paper to physical ratio is around 356:1.
That means:
- For every 1 ounce of real silver
- There are hundreds of paper claims
If even a small percentage of buyers ask for real delivery, the system breaks.
Markets understand this. That is why price moves are becoming vertical.
5. Industrial demand keeps rising.
Silver is not just a safe haven metal.
It is critical for:
- Solar panels
- Electric vehicles
- Electronics
- Medical devices
Industrial use now makes up 50-60% of total silver demand.
There is no substitute for silver in many of these uses.
Banks and institutions are reacting to:
- Supply limits
- Physical shortages
- Paper market risk
Silver is not rallying because of fear.

When you land at Goa you will find your fellow middle class folks in a hurry to get out to beach. The cloths they are wearing start biting then if they have not changed mid flight in Aircraft toilet. and slowly folks start speaking english to kids even if the kid don't know basic language
When you come to Goa Dabolim airport to take a flight, trust me the fun is unlimited. just do a quick check in and security, sit in a place from where you can see most of people and enjoy the show
Every one speaking Middle class national language English. Most ladies come to airport directly from beach and in a hurry they mixed their cloths. I mean mother's wearing their son beach wear and irrespective of size, every female is kareena Kapoor on beach at Airport. Aunty ji inners were stolen at beach ......
The Pani Puri by elite of Delhi is just OMG moment as if it was invented in Goa. Smoking room is small cramped with people but no issues the pot on beach experience says brothers in arms
I was in Goa on this christmas holidays for business meeting. travelled many parts of Goa and mainly the happening place in Panjim near casinos. The Goans are deep rooted people with 45% Christian population, I didn't saw a single Goan native dancing drunk with red cap but i can't say same for folks who came from bangalore, mumbai, Delhi NCR. They all seems to have brought santa fancy dress in their checked baggage. There was almost a fight near the Church for selfie with the plastic tree, Mothers wishing kids marry Christmas
Anyways, Goa is an experience if you want to study educated middle class behaviour where they fight with themselves to show the eliteness in them and progressive mindset
whenever I take flight from this airport, i come 3 hours early. sit on floor between J and I gate with a coffee and enjoy the show free of cost and the 3 hrs just pass like a click.
Trust me its the best entertainment you will enjoy. Try it next time between 3 pm and 8 pm

So the top institute educated Hubby (I guess in good faith) punture it with pen, put some meshed aloo with wooden spoon and start adding water with spoon
Hand it to wife and she says, OMG is divine pls give me more. I want more.......... 🤣
Me and wife couldn't control our laughter with last comment so we decided to walk away from table and let them enjoy OMG divine moment with Gol Gappa in public.........
Traveling is just so much fun

If you think I only had fun moment at GOA Dabolim Airport yesterday, No, I had a Heart break moment too
A young middle class couple in their late 20 or early 30 walking in close to where I was sitting with toddler baby in stroller pushed by another young girl under 18 years
The couple, I am sure were from corporate world and earn very well
The mother feeds kid with a choco pie with spoon but the kid was more interested to come out of stroller in mother's arm, The mother didn't obliged the small kid and walking away, later the kid start pulling father leg but he was too not that interested
The airline made a final call and the girl maid took the kid in her arms and let the airline staff take the stroller. The kid was silent but we both can see the tears in his eyes
I told my wife, why mahadev give kids to such parents. I wish we can adopt.
We both were in tears, we looked back our own life. When we both were dancing with millions, we never had a external people ever to even touch our son
I am not an astrologer, but trust me, I can write the faith of this family. Rest assure both these people will cry when their kid will step out of home for career in next 20 years
