Plastic Parks in India Accelerating Growth of the Polymer-Based Industrial Ecosystem 🔹 Department of Chemicals and Petro-Chemicals is implementing the Scheme for Setting up of Plastic Parks under the umbrella scheme of New Scheme of Petrochemicals 🔹 The objective is to consolidate and synergize the capacities of downstream plastic processing industry to help increase investment, production and export in the sector as well as generate employment 🔹 10 Plastic Parks have been approved so far in different States 🔹 India stands 12th in the world export of plastics, as per the 2022 World Bank estimates

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐨𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭’𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 🔸A team from Bose Institute, an autonomous institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), set out to examine whether a molecule composed on an assembly of atoms mimic intelligent behaviour at the very basic level. 🔸The research led by Prof. Shubhra Ghosh Dastidar, involving his student Nibedita Ray Chaudhuri, worked on TAK1 kinase, a protein known for its role in cellular stress signaling and crucial to immune response, inflammations and even for the survival of cells.
