The legislation is SUSPENDED. It will go to consultation to revoke it, then be voted in both Houses to REVOKE legislation. We will continue our rallies as planned. On Thursday we will be at NHS Employers in Leeds to demand a PUBLIC APOLOGY for all the stress and anxiety created by this legislation, so please join us. +++++ FTA LAW UPDATE +++++ The response will be on 3rd Feb (according to the Govt’s legal dept) which FTA Law have said basically isn’t good enough as the response was required on 27th Jan. Papers are now being filed tomorrow by FTA in Leeds to hurry the process on. They are short of funds to the tune of £15k. This one has been in process much longer and is further ahead so really needs support. If enough people can give just £10 it will fill the gap. ++++++++ IMPORTANT ++++++++++ Now is the time to decide how you want to proceed. Our futures are on the line. On the one hand, you can extend your stay at the NHS, and forfeit the value of individual choice. This is a short term gain and yes, it may save you, but it will not save the rest of society. On the other hand, this will be our hardest fight, and there will be sacrifices that have to be made. We stick together. We potentially lose our jobs for a few months. But we will have them back. This is the long game, and this is what prevents mandates for the whole of society. We value individual choice, so you must make your choice. We will support your choice either way. For those who want to choose the long game: DO NOT ACCEPT SELF EXEMPTION. Do not extend your stay at the NHS. Look for a temporary job while we destress from work related stress. Do not for a moment think you are not important-- your roles and your experiences cannot be replaced. YOU have the power, lets use it all together. Get involved with your local groups. Local group leads, please scrutinise your members, we cannot have infiltrators in there. Contact @kayleigh31 for your local group. Please remember, no meetings without union representation. Delay your meeting until your union rep can be there. If they force you to go into a meeting without a rep, please contact acas.org.uk and lodge a complaint. Work within your groups to support each other, groups against the Trusts is what they fear. Record all forms of bullying, harrassment, coercion, discrimination. Include date, time, who, what was said, how you felt. Escalate officially in your workplace-- every failed attempt to resolve the issue is in your favour. Keep strong team, hold the line. 🙏
