Wrapping Up the Employment & Entrepreneurship Development Workshop! Participants engaged in group discussions, tackling key areas in employability and entrepreneurship development. Through these exercises, they explored how CEED can effectively address gaps in the current system, ensure inclusivity, and define stakeholder roles for long-term success. We were honored to have H.E Ato Kora Tushune, State Minister of the Ministry of Education, who emphasized that employment is more than just personal success—it strengthens communities and contributes to national development. He also acknowledged the impact of Dereja’s work in equipping students with the skills and opportunities to successfully transition from education to employment, shaping a workforce of capable young professionals. This workshop was a significant step toward shaping the future of CEED and driving real change in how we prepare young people for the world of work. The Employment & Entrepreneurship Development Workshop is underway, marking the next step in our partnership with the Ministry of Education to standardize Career & Entrepreneurship Centers in Ethiopian universities. We kicked off with inspiring keynotes on the power of collaboration in shaping youth employment. Dr. Eba Mijena, Academic Affairs Executive at MoE, emphasized the MoE’s commitment to quality education - working alongside partners like Africa Jobs Network to drive impactful initiatives. Through capacity building, training programs, and the establishment of Centers for Employment and Entrepreneurship Development (CEEDs), this collaboration will pave the way for a stronger, more prepared workforce.
