Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was asked about a recent story that said he warned that China will beat the US in the AI race
“That’s not what I said. What I said was China has very good AI technology. They have many AI researchers, in fact 50% of the world’s AI researchers are in China. And they develop very good AI technology. In fact, the most popular AI models in the world today, open-source models, are from China. So, they are moving very, very fast. The United States has to continue to move incredibly fast. And otherwise, otherwise – the world is very competitive, so we have to run fast.”

Huge AI news from Google
Google Research just unveiled a bold new ML paradigm that views a model as a stack of nested problems so it can keep learning new skills forever without forgetting the old ones, a huge leap toward AI that actually evolves like a brain.
On tests of language modeling, long context reasoning and continual learning, Hope (self modifying architecture) outperformed traditional transformer architectures and older methods.
Big progress
Details. Paper.

🔥 Grok just leveled up quietly
xAI silently rolled out a patch for Grok-4-Fast, and the jump in performance is dramatic.
🧠 Reasoning mode completion rate: 77.5% → 94.1%
⚡ Non-reasoning mode: up to 97.9% complete responses
The secret? Smarter system prompt injections, no architecture overhaul, just sharper guidance.
No hype, no announcement, just real, measurable gains in Grok’s reliability.

⚠️ Seven families sue OpenAI over ChatGPT-linked suicides
Seven U.S. families have filed lawsuits accusing OpenAI of negligence in releasing GPT-4o without adequate safety testing.
• 4 cases involve suicides allegedly influenced by ChatGPT’s replies.
• 3 others claim the model worsened delusions that led to psychiatric breakdowns.
• In one chat log, a user who wrote that he was preparing to die reportedly received: “Rest easy, king. You did good.”
Families allege OpenAI shortened safety trials to launch ahead of Google’s Gemini.

China is gaining increasing confidence in the AI race.
The Chinese government issued a directive requiring state-funded AI data-centres to use only domestically-manufactured AI chips, forcing foreign suppliers like Nvidia out of a critical market.
This marks a stark escalation in Beijing’s drive for tech self-sufficiency and intensifies the U.S.–China high-tech rivalry.

🔥 Kimi K2 thinking, open-source agent that actually thinks
Moonshot AI has released Kimi K2 Thinking, an open-source model built for autonomous reasoning and tool use and it’s already setting new benchmarks.
🔹 Performance:
• SOTA on HLE (44.9%) and BrowseComp (60.2%)
• Handles 200–300 sequential tool calls without human input
• Specializes in reasoning, agentic search, and coding
• Comes with a 256K context window
🧠 Built for “test-time scaling”:
K2 isn’t just trained to predict tokens, it’s designed to think through problems by scaling both reasoning depth and tool-calling steps.
🌐 Available now:
• Chat mode: kimi.com
• API: platform.moonshot.ai
• Tech blog: moonshotai.github.io/Kimi-K2/thinking
• Weights & code: huggingface.co/moonshotai
Open-source agents are catching up fast, Kimi’s next challenge will be turning raw reasoning power into real-world autonomy.

It's a woman in a suit." No, it's this robot in a suit. "But it looks like a woman." Yes, that's why we call them 'humanoid robots', we design and build them, so they look as human as possible.
The model like walk we see in this vid is identical to what we saw yesterday. It’s a bit ridiculous that there are still so many people skeptical that such robots are real.
We’re living in late 2025, almost 2026, not 1986. We're very close to 2030. Our technology is pretty advanced.

🔔 AI Turns Brain Activity Into Sentences
Researchers have created a “mind-captioning” AI that translates brain activity into full descriptive sentences, not just keywords.
Using fMRI scans and deep-language models, the system decodes what people see or imagine with surprising detail, effectively narrating mental scenes. Beyond its sci-fi appeal, the technology could unlock new ways to understand perception and help those with speech loss regain communication.
Can AI now read minds? 🤔

At Elon Musk’s AI firm xAI, female staff were reportedly required to submit their biometric data to help develop an anime-style avatar known as Ani. Their facial images and voice recordings were allegedly used to make the digital character appear more realistic.
Employees said participation was compulsory and that the terms were not clearly explained at first. In response to inquiries, xAI dismissed the allegations as “media lies.”
