I used to think only cleverer people can truly introspect or ‘self-analyse’ (that is to stop and assess the reasons for and validity of their own ideas & feelings). Yet in politics you can really hamstring yourself through introspection, since you’ll typically be up against self-righteous arrogance, brooding resentment and radical ethnocentrism. People like that never pause to reflect they just relentlessly plough on forward, utterly convinced of their own righteousness or victimhood. So how clever is it really to stop and introspect when your enemy only ever pauses to sharpen its spears?

The Federal Court of Australia has granted Aboriginal groups ‘exclusive native title rights’ to a large section of land in North West Victoria. ‘Native title’ is basically a legal term which means Aboriginal people or ‘Aboriginal corporations’ have special rights to access, use, dig or reside on specific lands and territories, regardless of who actually owns or leases that land. There’s no comment from anyone opposing the move in the article, the only persons quoted are 2 women from First Nations Legal and Research Services who consider the new laws a personal victory. I woke up the other night to the sound of a bird a singing. I thought for a second it could be morning already but it was too dark for that. I laid there for a moment listening to that bird sing the same song every few seconds, like a broken audio file on loop. It was the exact same sound over and over, repeated in almost identical sequences. After 20 minutes of hoping it would stop, I reached for my phone to check the time but remembered it wasn’t there. Federal police had appeared in my bedroom a couple of days prior and taken it, after someone reviewing CCTV footage decided I might have moved my arm in an illegal way. As I sat up to look for my watch it began to rain, but not regular rain. It was like somebody dropped a giant bucket of water onto my roof. It was a sudden, heavy downpour but lasted only about 20 seconds, then it stopped entirely. My hand found my watch beside the bed. It was 2am. I laid down again and listened to bird.exe play on loop for at least another hour and thought to myself, maybe ‘The Matrix’ was a documentary.

Just warming up 💪🏻 The deadlift is great for building overall strength and mass. Bear these three things in mind to make it easy: 1. Push then pull. Push through the ground with your quads until the bar is somewhere around knee height, then pull with your hamstrings, back and glutes. 2. Keep everything tight. Activate your entire central nervous system before each lift. Tense up your legs, your abs, hands, fingers etc. Everything must be tight and strong. 3. Keep the bar close to your body.
