ኦ! በኅሊናህ ቂም በቀል የሌለብህ! መዓዛህ እንደ ጣፋጭ ሽቱ የሆነ! ስለ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ (ከሃዲዎች) እንደ ደመና የበተኑህ! የተጋድሎ ምስክርነትን የፈጸምህ! ኦ! መርቆሬዎስ ዘሮሜ! (አርኬ) #እንደልማድህ ፈጥነህ እርዳን! " ፍቅር ያጌብረኒ ከመ እንግር ዜናሆሙ ለቅዱሳን"::/የቅዱሳንን ዜና(ታሪክ) እንድመሰክር ፍቅር ያስገድደኛል::        አባ ጊዮርጊስ ዘጋስጫ /መጽሐፈ ምሥጢር

And while he lived in prayer and fasting with the Cynocephaly, they made him an officer in place of his father.✞And he became very powerful at war, was loved by the people and became a man of prayer and fasting. And at that period, because Decius the Emperor had renounced Christ, death was decreed upon the faithful. And because the Berbers had declared war on the Roman Empire, Decius and St. Mercurius went out for war. ✞However, when the Emperor saw the Berbers were as numerous as the sand, he was afraid. And when St. Mercurius prayed during the night as the battle was postponed for the next day, St. Gabriel descended and gave him his sword (that’s why he is called Abu-Seifein - the holder of two swords).  ✞And the next day when they (the officers) asked, “What should we do?”, St. Mercurius responded with, “I am a servant of Christ, I alone will stand before them”, and they all laughed. ✞But he went up his black horse (which grew up with him) and said to the Berbers “You should not do battle but go in peace”. However, they also laughed at him. And at that instant, after praying, when he pulled out the angel’s sword, many fell. Not even one was left to deliver the news.   ✞And when the news was heard in Rome, a great jubilation took place. Nevertheless, because the apostate Emperor, Decius, said “Victory was of the idols like Apollo”, St Mercurius spent the night in sadness. ✞And on the 3rd day, an order came to him from the Emperor that said, “Sacrifice to the idols”. However, the Saint went to the square and took off his honorary clothing and gild and threw it before the Emperor.  ✞Saying, ”My honor is Christ. May your property be for your demise”, he rebuked the Emperor in public. Then, Decius in anger had fire lit and ordered for a hot iron bed and placed St. Mercurius on it.   ✞And as if that was not enough, when soldiers beat him taking turns, his blood flowed and extinguished the fire. And because of that the scholars say, “They, who were of accursed, lit fire upon thee And blood came forth from thy flogged body And it quenched the flame as rain that was heavy” ✞Then, they took him to prison and threw him inside. And so the Saint forsakes Christ, the Emperor tortured him with hunger, lashings, fire and blades. Finally, he sent him to Asia in order that they kill him after afflicting him. And there, they tormented him much and beheaded him on this day, Hedar 25 (December 4). ✞And after he was martyred, his blessed horse preached for years. And it destroyed heathens with fire that came out of its mouth. It is believed that the Mighty Martyr St. Mercurius was born in 200 A.D, started enduring tortures from 220 A.D and was martyred in 225 AD. ✞The Martyr, on this day, is commemorated for slaying the Emperor Julian the Apostate who used to torture and kill Christians in the 4th century.  The Saint’s honor is great! ✞✞✞ May the God of St. Mercurius safeguard us by his covenant and may He not displace us from his inheritance.  And may He grant us from his blessing. ✞✞✞ Annual feasts celebrated on the 25th of Hedar 1. As a star is greater than a star, from martyrs those like St. George and St. Mercurius have higher honors.   ✞The scholars describe St. Mercurius most of the time as “The Second Arch-Martyr”. If asked about his story, it was as follows. ✞At the end of the 2nd century, there was a man named Yares who lived with his wife and father in one of the provinces of the Roman Empire (in Aslet/Eskentos). Even though his wife was beautiful and he was a kind man, they worshipped idols. ✞One day, Yares left his wife at home and went to hunt with his father. And as usual they set a trap and hid. When they heard the bell, thinking that they had caught an animal they run. However, they were shocked by what they saw and froze. Two creatures with dog like appearances, Cynocephali, were caught. ✞This creatures were people. Nevertheless, with an unfortunate incident it is believed that they became like this. But they were huge with a dog like appearance above their necks, midriffs like humans, knees were like a lion and their lower legs were like searing bronze. ✞An earthly creature could not handle these creatures rather a heavenly one [was able]. It is said that they even reaped apart lions and tigers like pieces of cloth. As their eyes seemed to be blazing (on fire), no one could see them directly. Only their God, Who created them, knows their mystery. ✞Coming back to what we have started, Yares and his father after seeing them fell down in shock. The Cynocephali immediately dismantled the iron trap like a tread and [killed] the father. However, when they tried to eat Yares, a holy angel descended and stopped them with a fiery sword. ✞He said, “There is a holy fruit that will come from him. Do not touch him.” Immediately, he stopped their aggressiveness. Then, both went before Yares and bowed before him. And Yares took them to his home, hid them and told his wife all what had happened.   ✞A bit later, his wife conceived and bore a child. And they named their newborn Philopater which means “Lover of the Father”. Then, Yares took his wife, his son, and the creatures to church and was baptized. ✞Then the priests named him “Noah”, his wife “Ark” (Saphina) and their son “Mercurius”. Mercurius means “Christodoulos-Servant of Christ”. ✞Then they raised their son Mercurius while they joyously worshipped Christ and while they gave to the needy. Nonetheless, because the governor heard about the creatures, he said to Noah “Bring them”. And because Noah prayed and they returned to their former might and appearance many gentiles died in shock. ✞And because the governor was scared, he made Noah an officer in the army. And during war because the might and appearance of the creatures showed, he never lost. But one day, the governor deceived the 2 Cynocephali and took them. And when he tried to make them renounce their faith, because they said “No”, one was killed and the other escaped. ✞And at that time, Noah was captured in battle. And because the governor said let me marry you to Ark, she fled with her 5 year old child St. Mercurius. And while in flight, she saw her husband Noah. ✞Even though she knew him, he had forgotten her. However, later on, because he was able to remember by the child Mercurius, they were joyous. ✝አቡነ ዜና ማርቆስ✝ ባርከኒ አባ እንሣእ በረከተከ በእንተ ሰላማ ለቅድስት ቤተ ክርስቲያን ዜናማርቆስ አባ ባርከኒ እንሣእ በረከተከ። ✝የጻድቁ ልደታቸው ኅዳር 24 ነው። ✝ከበዓለ ልደታቸው በረከት ያድለን።

✝✞✝ እንኩዋን አደረሳችሁ ✝✞✝ "" ቅዱስ አባታችን #ተክለ_ሃይማኖት ከ24ቱ #ካህናተ_ሰማይ ጋር መንበረ ጸባኦትን ያጠኑበት ቀን ኅዳር 24 ይታሰባል:: "" ስለዚህም አበው "ተክለ ሃይማኖት #ሱራፊ እለ ስድስቱ ክነፊሁ (6 ክንፍ ያለው አባታችን መልአኩ ሱራፊን ሆነ)" ሲሉ ያመሰግኗቸዋል:: " የቅዱሱ አባታችንና የቅድስት ገዳሙ (#ደብረ #ሊባኖስ) በረከት ይደርብን:: "  " ፍቅር ያጌብረኒ ከመ እንግር ዜናሆሙ ለቅዱሳን"::/የቅዱሳንን ዜና(ታሪክ) እንድመሰክር ፍቅር ያስገድደኛል::  አባ ጊዮርጊስ ዘጋስጫ /መጽሐፈ ምሥጢር/

John the Apocalyptic in his revelation had seen them in grandeur in the likeness of elders. (Rev. 4:4) ✞And righteous scholars like Abba Giorgis of Gasicha in their pleasing praises described them as “The Heavenly Priests that stand in His court remove their crowns to prostrate before His throne. And they tremble, when the lightening of His Godhead is revealed.”  (Horologium of Abba Giorgis of Gasicha) And that is because no creature can stand before the marvelous essence of the Trine. ✞As the Twenty Four Heavenly Priests are esteemed in their praise, incense and intercession, we should honor them at all times. We should as well beseech them so that they could sanctify our tainted identities, remembered us in their devotions and take up our prayers. ✞Saying that their annual feast is on Hedar 24 (December 3) shows that their monthly feast falls on the 24th of each month hence we should commemorate them always. ✞Particularly because they gladden a heart that is grieved, we call upon them like the scholars as follows. “Salutations to you Priests of His law and command Of God the Word Whose muslin is the flesh He assumed From your mouths the spring of joy does not arrest its tide Thus console I the distraught and disheartened And with your luminous wings beautify my courtyard.” Arke of Hedar 24 (December 3) – Abba Arke Selus ✞✞✞ Saint Azqir (Arethas) the Priest✞✞✞ =>Let us now pass from the account of priests to the account of a priest. Priests corresponding St. Azqir though they are mortal, because their authority and conducts are heavenly, they are alike angels. And they even transcend the angels in authority. ✞As it says in the Anaphora of St. Athanasius the Apostolic “He called them His ministers And elevated them above all and the various Hence what was not able for the angels, [It] was achieved by the priests.” The Divine Liturgy – The Anaphora of St. Athanasius the Apostolic ✞St. Azqir likewise was a 5th century Christian of Najran (present day Yemen) and a father that delighted in his priestly ministry people and Christ. Being victorious over gentiles and heathens, he kept his flock and increased their number. ✞And when they lashed and imprisoned him [for his acts], after miraculously opening the iron gates via the authority of his word, he was found baptizing other gentiles. And when they caught him again that he be killed, he preached on the way. And that his killers not die of thirst [on the road], he had rain fall onto a vessel and had 700 soldiers and their horses quench their thirst. ✞Finally, when the Jews tried to stone him, the rocks rebounded and struck them in their heads. And at that juncture, they were angered and beheaded him. Amen!✞✞✞ ✞✞✞The Twenty Four Incorporeal Priests of Heaven✞✞✞ =>When God created the Holy Angels, He divided them into 100 Hosts and 10 Orders. And they reside in 3 heavens (spheres) in 10 cities (worlds). ✞The cities that the angels reside in are called (according to the Ethiopic tradition) as Eror, Rama and Eyor in ascending order (when observed from bottom up). The 10 Orders with their commanders are listed as follows. (1-4 reside in Eyor, 5-7 reside in Rama, and 8-10 reside in Eror.) 1. Lordships (Their previous leader was Satan and those left when he fell are now under St. Michael) 2. Cherubim (Their leader is Cherub) 3. Seraphim (Their leader is Seraph) 4. Powers (Their leader is Michael) 5. Dominions (Their leader is Gabriel) 6. Thrones (Their leader is Raphael) 7. Authorities (Their leader is Suriel) 8. Principalities (Their leader is Sedaqiel/Zedekiel) 9. Archangels (Their leader is Selatiel/Sarathiel) and 10. Angels (Their leader is Ananiel) ✞From these *Lordships * Cherubim * Seraphim and *Powers reside in Eyor (the 3rd heaven/sphere). While *Dominions *Thrones, and * Authorities reside in Rama (the 2nd heaven/sphere), *Principalities, *Archangels, and *Angels reside in Eror (the 1st heaven/sphere).   ✞The creation of the angels is from ex nihilo (non - existence) to existence. The angels do not hunger, thirst, reproduce or die. Their creation is immaterial. Their act is to daily praise their Creator saying, “Holy, Holy, Holy.” And their virtue is this (praising God). ✞They know not rest as the text states, “Their praise is their rest and their rest is their praise.” As the name angel means a messenger, a servant, they are sent to the children of men for mercy or wrath. ✞They bring down mercy and they take up pleas. They smite when ordered and protect nature (the four seasons) to keep its order. *They always intercede for the children of man. (Zech. 1:12) *They reveal mysteries (Dan. 9:21) *They aid/support (Josh. 5:13) *They protect us so we do not stumble (Ps. 90(91):11) *They save (Ps. 33(34):11) *They are deserving of prostration/veneration (Judg. 13:20, Josh. 5:13, Rev. 22:8) *On Judgement Day they separate the righteous from sinners (Matt. 25:31) *All in all, for the sake of the life and salvation of the children of man they live keeping the order and executing the will of their Creator that was given to them. ✞The Holy Church commemorates on this day the Twenty Four Incorporeal Priests. These holy angels are 10 hosts and are called Seraphim per their order and dwell in Eyor (the 3rd heaven/sphere). And twenty four superiors from the hosts were selected and serve in the Seventh Heaven (Tsereha Aryam/Araboth) led by their chief, Holy Seraph. ✞Though all the holy angels are close to God per the teachings of the Faith, there is none closer as a single being like St. Michael and as orders like the Cherubim (the Four Incorporeal Beasts) and the Seraphim (the Twenty Four Incorporeal Priests). ✞✞✞The ministry of the Twenty Four Heavenly Priests includes; 1. Praising their Creator morning and night with chants that sound like thunder. (Isa. 6:1, Rev. 4:11, 5:11) 2. Unceasingly censing the throne of the Holy Trinity. (Rev. 5:8) 3. Raising the prayers of the children of men particularly that of the saints with their censers. (Rev. 8:3) 4. They also sanctify the impure. (Isa. 6:6) 5. And they exist beseeching daily for mankind. (Zech. 1:12) ✞And about these Holy Priests (the Seraphim) the great book, the Holy Bible, states much. For example, the Major Prophet Isaiah, who is of elevated discourse, when God was dissatisfied in him, during the year when Uzziah had died, saw them praising the Holy Trinity surrounding His throne saying, “Holy, Holy, Holy.”✞Thereafter, one of them (a Seraph) came to the Prophet and touching his lips with a live coal using tongs cleansed him from his vitiligo.
