The controversial Aave ‘token alignment’ proposal has officially come to a close with the results continuing to leave the issue at a standstill.
The vote saw roughly 55% vote NO, 41% ABSTAIN, and 3.5% vote YES
Despite the resolution resulting in Aave Labs continuing to hold onto Aave’s brand assets, ACI’s Marc Zeller called the result a win for decentralised governance. He also hinted at a possible second proposal being introduced in the future – one which would truly reflect the DAO’s views.

2025 is almost over, and it’s been a strange year/cycle for crypto.
BTC made new ATHs, but most alts failed to see meaningful price action.
The big question now is — will 2026 be different?
We reviewed major predictions for 2026 from Coinbase, Galaxy Research, Grayscale, a16z, Messari, Delphi Digital, and Presto Research to identify common themes.
1️⃣ Fewer Price Predictions, Mostly BTC-Focused 💸
Unlike last year, most reports avoided price targets altogether. Those that did make forecasts only talked about Bitcoin - and even then, cautiously.
Grayscale was the most optimistic, expecting higher valuations and a BTC ATH in H1 2026.
Delphi avoided numbers, instead pointing out BTC’s historical lag behind gold (3–4 months).
Galaxy skipped 2026 entirely, projecting $250K BTC in 2027.
Interestingly, hardly anyone is outright bullish on 2026.
2️⃣ Is the 4-Year Cycle Dead? 🤔
All reports cast doubt on the traditional 4-year crypto cycle. Historically, the cycle worked because of its link to global liquidity cycles.
Now, with BTC increasingly treated as a macro asset, analysts believe macro policy, liquidity conditions, and regulation may matter more than halving cycles - potentially pushing major upside into 2026 or even 2027.
3️⃣ Regulation Is The Biggest Bullish Catalyst ⚖️
Every report highlights regulatory clarity as a key driver.
2026 is expected to bring major U.S. regulatory progress (GENIUS Act, CLARITY Act).
SEC reforms, innovation sandboxes, and exemptions for tokenized securities could unlock DeFi + RWA growth.
This is viewed as structurally bullish by reducing friction and attracting institutions.
4️⃣ Altcoin Optimism Is Niche-Driven 🕯
While broad alt enthusiasm is muted, analysts highlighted specific areas:
- Revenue-generating tokens
- Privacy coins
- Prediction markets
- Stablecoin payments
- RWA tokenisation
- Crypto x AI
5️⃣ Institutions Everywhere 🏦
Galaxy expects: 15+ crypto IPOs, 50+ spot altcoin ETFs and $50B+ in net ETF inflows, BTC allocations rising from <0.5% to 1-2% in institutional portfolios
Coinbase expects: "DAT 2.0" (specialised services instead of simple accumulation)
Presto expects: Tokenized RWAs reaching $490B and on-chain Nasdaq volume hitting 5% CME’s equivalent.

AI agents are expected to drive payments, identity, and commerce - with concepts like Know-Your-Agent (KYA) and massive on-chain transaction volumes.
