In Nigeria, inflation is a constant battle, eating away at your hard-earned money. 😔 According to the recent CPI report by nigerianstat.gov.ng, inflation increased to 33.69% in April 2024. This means that what cost you #1000 before, will now cost you #1330. The Naira just doesn't seem to stretch as far as it used to. But you can fight back as a Naija wey no dey carry last!🇳🇬 In this series, we will take a look at the different things you can do to defy inflation using DeFi. Decentralized Finance lets you manage gives you more control over your money by providing innovative tools that allow you to seamlessly outpace inflation. Strategy 1: Saving in Stablecoins Usually, the go-to strategy for people when they want to save is to store their naira in the bank and earn paltry 5%. But with inflation currently at over 33%, you already know why this is a bad idea. Others buy real estate. While this is a good long-term investment, not many people have the money to buy real estate.
