💮Physical Appearance
❇️ Part 3-style questions
👨🏻💼Is it important to dress well whenever we go out?
👨🏻🎓It depends where you’re going … I know some people get done up just to go to the shops … but I don’t see the point … you shouldn’t go out looking scruffy with disheveled hair but I really don’t see the point in getting dressed up to the nines unless you’re going somewhere special …
👨🏻💼Do people worry too much about their appearance as they get older?
👨🏻🎓I’m sure they do … yes … but it happens to all of us doesn’t it … we all go grey eventually and get hard of hearing … we start to lose our figure … that’s why plastic surgery is so popular … personally I think we just need to grow old gracefully and not worry too much about how we look

Subject-Verb Agreement with "Neither...Nor" and "Either...Or"
✔️When "neither...nor" and "either...or" connect two subjects, the verb agrees with the subject closest to it. Position: Beginning of sentence usually, but can be in the middle of a sentence if introducing contrasting clauses.
🔸Neither the students nor the teacher was happy with the exam results.
🔸Either the manager or the employees are going to attend the conference.
✔️When one subject is singular and the other is plural, it's generally better to place the plural subject closer to the verb. This is for stylistic reasons. Position: Usually in the middle of a sentence.
🔸Neither the president nor his advisors support the proposal. (Advisors is closer to the verb, "support.")
🔸Either the cat or the dogs have eaten the sandwich off the counter.
✔️Using "neither" and "either" with a singular noun requires a singular verb. Position: Beginning or middle of sentence.
🔸Neither option is satisfactory.
🔸Either solution is acceptable to me.

🗣️ IELTS SPEAKING BAND 7 SAMPLE ANSWERS
Want to boost your IELTS score? Let's look at what a Band 7 answer sounds like! It's all about fluency and using varied vocabulary.
Key principle: Think natural, not perfect.
Example: "What is your favorite type of music?" Band 7: "Um, that's a tricky one. I listen to all sorts, really. But if I had to pick, I'd probably say indie rock. I just find it really… engaging, you know? The melodies are catchy, and the lyrics are often quite thought-provoking." Notice the use of fillers ("Um," "you know?") and varied vocabulary ("engaging," "thought-provoking").
Another example: "Describe a time when you helped someone." Band 7: "Okay, so, let me think... Last year, my neighbor, Mrs. Peterson, she, uh, broke her arm. And she lives alone. So, I started helping her out with groceries and taking out the trash, that sort of thing. It was, you know, a small thing, but it made a big difference to her. And it actually felt really rewarding, to be honest." Shows the use of "So, let me think..." for time to consider, and "that sort of thing" to expand the thought. Focus on linking the action to a feeling/consequence.
Key Points section:
Key Points:
• Speak naturally; don't try to sound like a textbook. Use fillers and hesitation markers like "Um," "Well," and "You know."
• Use a range of vocabulary to express your ideas clearly and precisely. Don't be afraid to use synonyms.
• Practice, practice, practice! The more you speak, the more comfortable you'll become. Record yourself and listen back to identify areas for improvement.
