This is going to get ugly.
Ben Fordham has the exclusive on this. Here's the chain of events:
1. 2 people steal a motorcycle.
2. the brother of the victim chases them in a ute.
3. the brother hits the motorcycle, 'repeatedly' it would seem, leaving the passenger in critical condition in hospital. The rider is on the run from Police.
4. Police haven't yet confirmed whether they will charge the driver of the ute with any offenses.
UGH.
Ok, let's try and make sense of this mess and what it might mean going forward.
Firstly, I 100% get that people are fed up with crime and the temptation to take matters in to your own hands would be overwhelming.
But there is a WORLD of difference between hurting someone who is inside your home and attacking you while you protect your family, and hurting someone you chase down the street in a ute because you want your motorbike back.
I sympathise with the brother who took matters into his own hands, but I think he's just handed himself to the police on a platter and the 'justice system' is going to go absolutely to town on him.
Secondly, setting aside the specifics of this case, we all need to come to terms with the fact that the police and 'justice' system are not your friends. If history is our guide, people who pursue justice themselves are dealt with more harshly than those who committed the crimes they were responding to.
This is because criminals are not a threat to the system, they are in fact essential to the survival of the system. But people who go and get their own justice? They threaten the relevance and 'need' for the system, so they must be destroyed.
I'll say that again: The justice system benefits from the existence of criminals, in fact without them they'd all be unemployed, but is threatened by the existence of vigilante's or people who execute their own justice without needing the system.
When you understand this a lot of things will 'click' for you.
This is why the system will go far harder on someone who goes after criminals, than it will on the criminals themselves.
The highest priority of any system is its own survival.
I'll say that again.
The highest priority of any system is its own survival.
The continued existence of any 'system' is more important to it than the outcomes it was created to accomplish.
Because of this, any 'system' becomes a parasite that ultimately destroys the thing it is attached to.
'Education system'? Who graduates? The person who has the most education, or the person who best plays the game and fits in with the system?
'Healthcare system'? What is the priority of every healthcare worker? To get the best healthcare outcomes even if it means bending some rules, or following the system so they don't get in trouble even if patients suffer?
'System' comes first, always. The outcomes? Secondary. Sometimes even completely irrelevant.
'Justice system'? Who gets what they want? The person whose cause is just? or the person who understand and uses the system best?
You know the answer.
I'm actually considering writing my 3rd book on exactly this topic because it is SO PIVOTAL and explains everything about the dysfunction of government.
'System' is a parasite, it can be no other way, because it must protect itself from all threats first and foremost.
Unfortunately the man who tried to get his brothers motorbike back has just volunteered to provide us with an object lesson.

A marriage doesn’t usually end because of one explosive fight. It ends when there are 10,000 conversations left unsaid,10,000 small moments of hurt that go unaddressed, and 10,000 misunderstandings that build walls instead of bridges.
Silence can be just as destructive as shouting. When we avoid the tough talks, when we suppress our feelings instead of working through them, resentment grows like weeds in a garden that once flourished with love.
If something is bothering you, speak up. If your partner is distant, reach out. If love is worth keeping, it’s worth fighting for. Communicate, even when it’s hard. Because the real tragedy isn’t the arguments—it’s the ones you never have.
https://www.facebook.com/measuredmediation can assist with Mediator's who are neutral and impartial and can help people communicate effectively, to focus on what is important to both parties and facilitate workable agreements.

While some not for profit organisations will offer means-tested rates, they usually have long waiting lists and allocate a fixed amount of time per client and limited appointment times. Other mediation services will charge a fee per hour but matters can be complex and sessions can end up being very expensive, more than you need or can afford.
Measured Mediation & Professional Services offers fixed fee Mediation, no matter how many sessions you require to resolve your dispute.

Imagine sending your child to a catholic school thinking they won't be exposed to gender ideology and then finding out the school is doing exactly that.
When you question what's going on, they expel your child from the school!
Yes. It's really happening. Narelle is one of the founding Advocates with Human Rights Advocates Australia and is now advocating for her daughter and the right for other families, to raise concerns with their school, without the threat of expulsion.

At a VCAT hearing in December, the diocese also raised concerns about a Facebook page where Narelle publishes what they labelled "inappropriate" comments about the diocese and its people. Narelle said she was very open about her concerns online.
Narelle told The Australian she "acted in good faith" at all times and "wanted to believe that the school would be reasonable about this but was stunned to find they doubled-down and said the books, especially, were appropriate for the Catholic school library".
The Diocese of Ballarat Catholic Education schools said it was "committed to creating a safe, respectful, and Christ-centred learning environment for students".
"Programs and teaching resources utilised in our schools are consistent with the well-established Diocesan Relationships and Sexuality Education curriculum and comply with Victorian Government Child Safe Standards."

A mother claims her 10-year-old daughter was expelled from her northwest Victorian Catholic school over her own "religious and political views" after she raised concerns about parts of the curriculum relating to gender and the body, and the appropriateness of what she called "LGBTQI-themed books" in the school library.
Sacred Heart Primary School in Mildura denies this, saying there was an "irretrievable breakdown" of the mother's relationship with the school, a "psychosocial risk" to staff members, and that her daughter's ongoing enrolment was no longer "in her best interests, or tenable".
Narelle, who did not want to use her surname for the privacy of her daughter, made an application to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal late last year alleging unlawful discrimination against her daughter.
She also lodged an injunction in case the local diocese attempted to terminate her daughter's enrolment.
She claimed in her application to VCAT that she "disagreed with a number of (the school's) religious and political views and complained to them", and that the Diocese of Ballarat Catholic Education are "punishing my daughter in a cruel manner to punish me".
She also argued that the school had "no grounds to expel a student based on parents' actions".
Narelle intends to fight the official decision after the Diocese of Ballarat Catholic Education notified her last week her daughter would not be able to continue at the school after Semester 1.
In a document sent to the tribunal in December, Narelle said she raised concerns about "the lack of consideration for Catholic teachings in implementing" the Acknowledgement of Country in school assemblies, requested "clarification" on how puberty and reproduction were taught in the curriculum, questioned the appropriateness of "specific books in the school library" including one comedic children's book called The Boy in the Dress, as well as a video shown to her daughter which led her to ask whether you could "stop puberty".
In October, she met with school principal Mark Gibson to discuss her concerns about the library books and the video, and expressed "disappointment and concern over the direction the school is taking especially regarding upholding Catholic values". Mr Gibson said he had reviewed and deemed all those library materials as appropriate.
After further back and forth, the Diocese of Ballarat wrote to her to defend the school's educational program as "determined by the professional judgment of its experienced educators" and suggested there was a "misalignment between the educational program offered by the school, and your expectations".
At the end of last month, the diocese confirmed the decision to terminate Narelle's daughter's enrolment, claiming they had taken a number of measures to address her concerns regarding the curriculum and books, but there was a "distrust", lack of respect and support for "those entrusted with providing (your daughter) with an education".
Faced with a claim her interactions with the school had "created a psychosocial risk and negatively impacted the wellbeing of staff members (including the principal)", Narelle said she only raised concerns with the principal and vice principal. Ballarat Diocese executive director Tom Sexton, in the last letter to Narelle, said they would oppose her application to VCAT, and said "for the avoidance of doubt, that this decision is not - motivated by your religious or political activities or beliefs".

Today the Federal Government in conjunction with the Coalition and with no resistance from One Nation passed a bill against Hate Speech.
They gagged debate again and rammed the laws through with no scrutiny where we could ask questions.
This is a direct attack on Free Speech. For the third parliamentary week in a row the major parties have devoted Parliament to controlling you, not serving you, by shutting you down.
The Misinformation Law, the Online Safety Bill and now Hate Speech are all designed to censor people and push back on government overreach.
The hate speech law is dangerous because it threatens freedom of speech by allowing the government to censor or punish individuals for expressing opinions that might be deemed offensive.
Such laws are often vague and subjective, leading to potential abuse and selective enforcement. This creates a chilling effect where people fear speaking openly, stifling debate and free expression.
Instead of combating hate, these laws can be weaponized to silence dissent and suppress unpopular viewpoints, ultimately undermining democratic values and individual liberties.
People First stood in defence of open discourse, free speech, and the democratic principles that underpin our society. Upholding these values will foster trust and preserve the liberties that Australians hold dear.
I am disappointed that One Nation did not stand with me on this issue.
These laws extend to all people including children. When a motion was moved to exclude children under 14 from these laws, Malcolm Roberts voted against it.
Children should not be penalised for the actions or thoughts of their parents.
I challenge Malcolm and Pauline to debate me on the reasons why they support this law. It is government overreach plain and simple.
There are already state laws against violence and inciting violence.
Under the constitution, the States are responsible for policing crime not the Federal Government. There is no need for these laws.
They will only be used to censor you.

On 28 January, the Queensland Government ordered a statewide halt on puberty blocking agents and gender affirming hormones for all new patients under 18 seeking help for gender dysphoria, pending an independent review into their use. The blanket halt does not allow high quality services in this sensitive practice area to continue to provide evidence-informed care with consent.
Sex Discrimination Commissioner Dr Anna Cody has raised concerns on the pause in Stage One and Two hormone therapies for people under 18 years through the Queensland’s public health system while an independent review is undertaken.
“A fundamental human right is access to healthcare, and gender affirming healthcare is part of this right,” she said. “Trans and gender diverse children and young people should feel supported to affirm their gender by the adults in their lives and health care providers.
“This pause has the potential to harm the physical and mental wellbeing of children in Queensland who are currently awaiting care. We note that these treatments are supported by evidence and the Australian Standards of Care and Treatment Guidelines for Trans and Gender Diverse Children and Adolescents that are endorsed by medical experts*. Above all, we must ensure we are putting the wellbeing of trans and gender diverse children and young people first.
“The Australian Human Rights Commission will be contacting the Queensland Government with our concerns and to seek further information. Our concern is that restricting access will create trauma to young people who will be unable to access treatments in a timely manner.”

Another reminder to not leave children in the car, after an absolute tragedy occurred in Sydney yesterday. A one year old baby died after being left in car outside a Sydney childcare centre.
Police believe she had been left there for an "extended period of time" on a 30 degree day. Emergency services were called to Marana Road in Earlwood in the Inner West about 5.35pm, after the baby was found unresponsive inside the car by a member of the public.
Paramedics tried to save her but she died in what police called an "absolute tragedy". 🥺😢
