I know people on all sides who look at every event, make their own guess about what’s really happening… then “round up” and rush online to declare with frenetic certainty precisely what the truth is. I wonder if they do it because of an underlying need to persuade as many as possible to adopt their position. Does this make them feel more secure & validated? A bunch of channels are doing this right now, and adopting contradictory positions. They can’t all be right, but somehow they’re all certain?! I kind of enjoy looking at what’s going on and considering all reasonable alternatives. If it’s kayfabe, what might that mean and what moves is it preparation for? Who in DC is meant to fall for it? If it’s real, then who has made what deals and what else is shifting behind the scenes? How else might this manifest in the near term?
