I haven’t given an update in a while, but I actually made it through this last so-called flu season refusing the flu vaccine and it’s looking like I’m actually going to be able to retire from the military honorably! God is good! 🙏🏻 My most recent religious exemption for the flu shot was denied back in February. I appealed it, but the appeal wasn’t ruled on before the end of flu season (in July 🤡) so, I officially made it!!! While my RAR was processing, I was refused a deployment opportunity, which is unfortunate. However, I have since received my retirement orders. Earlier this week, I was able to outprocess my unit and finally move back to my hometown to be with my family. I’ll be on permissive then terminal leave the next few months but my service is essentially done. I’m not sure I’ll ever wear the uniform again. 😥 With all the COVID vaccine and mask nonsense and then deciding I wasn’t going to allow another vaccine to enter my body, my last 4 years have been quite the battle for me because I honestly wasn’t sure I’d make it to retirement. I experienced so much stress and moral injury these last few years with how the leadership handled everything. It took a toll on me mentally and spiritually, but I had a ton of help and encouragement from so many on this channel and I can’t thank you all enough! 👊🏻❤️ That being said, the new administration is giving me hope that things are turning around for the better. I think the future is looking bright for our men and women in uniform! 🫡 For now, I’ll be home focusing on my family and figuring out the next phase of my life!
