📝 🇺🇸 🇪🇺 "I'm really struck by the similarities between what we're witnessing in Europe-US relations and the Sino-Soviet split in the 1960s." - Arnaud Bertrand "The Sino-Soviet split also occurred due to an ideological fracture whereby, after Khrushchev's de-Stalinization and embrace of "peaceful coexistence" with the West, China (the Soviets' junior partner at the time) accused the Soviets of being "revisionist traitors". Khrushchev pursued "peaceful coexistence" in large part to avoid military confrontation and redirect resources toward the Soviet world: his (somewhat deluded) promise to "catch up and overtake" the West economically. Eerily similar here: "peaceful coexistence" is quite literally what Trump is now saying he wants to achieve with Russia, his latest National Security Strategy (NSS) prioritizes the US homeland and the Western hemisphere, and it redefines the competition with China as primarily economic rather than military (the very title of the China chapter in the NSS is "Win the Economic Future, Prevent Military Confrontation", almost verbatim Khrushchev). And Europeans, the junior partners, now explicitly view the U.S. as "revisionists". The article was written in 2024, and is named "I Hear The Voice of My Ancestors Calling." The entire article ostensibly serves as a manifesto for violent action on behalf of Palestinian nationalism.

🇺🇸🇵🇸 - There is growing suspicion that Mustapha Kharbouch, a third-generation Palestinian refugee studying international relations at Brown University, is the perpetrator of the mass shooting at Brown University on December 13th. A Gait analysis conducted comparing a video of Kharbouch at a pro-Palestine protest and surveillance footage published by the Providence Police Department shows a 97.8% correlation; high confidence that the two individuals in both videos are the same. Gait analysis use three-dimensional models to analyze and determine movement pathology, primarily in animals, but the same system has been used to identify and correlate human movement. Furthermore, all evidence that Kharbouch ever was at Brown University has been scrubbed; with his page on Brown University's official website now redirecting to a 404 error.
