🚭 🐣 With the breaking news of a push to reduce federal marijuana restrictions, what is the impact on fertility? Studies have found that cannabis use reduced sperm counts and motility in men and lowered the ability to conceive in women. For men, a 2025 study found marijuana use significantly reduced sperm counts, lowered motility, and was associated with much worse sperm morphology. The effects were even worse than for smoking, which has long been known to be negative for fertility. For women, a study found that cannabis users were 41% less likely to conceive each monthly cycle than non-users. Other studies reported lower egg quality and higher miscarriage rates with marijuana use.
