The subpoena against Nunes investigators would likely have been issued under the guise of a leak investigation. The benefit to the DOJ and FBI would be that this allows all communications, including those with Nunes and other Republicans (including Trump WH), to be swept up. The investigators turned their resources against those who were exercising their oversight powers. Third world stuff.

Interesting (to say the least) admission from the FBI concerning a second Seth Rich laptop in its possession - Seth Rich's work laptop is held by the FBI as part of "evidence" against Russian intelligence for interfering "with the 2016 U.S. presidential election." Because the work laptop is part of a pending case that will never be tried - the Russians aren't coming to the US any time soon - it is essentially buried from public view for the foreseeable future. Reminiscent of how the FBI buried Igor Danchenko, the Steele Primary Subsource, as a confidential human source. As to Seth Rich's personal laptop? The FBI is still fighting the production of that information.
