I will never cease to find it hilarious that after millennia of study on the subject of Political Science, the modern political compass is essentially just the character alignment chart from Dungeons and Dragons.

Tiling test.
This isn't aligned in proper squares yet.
Might make a good cover for my next album.

At what point is it going to click for these people that they are the ones abusing children?
Do they even stop for a single moment to ask the queer children what they think of all of this?
Good God.

It is absolutely unconscionable to report children to their parents for confided in you that they are queer.
Good God, obviously if a child is uncomfortable telling their parents they are queer then they have a reason for that.
Trying to deliberately get children in trouble with abusive or untrustworthy parents is absolutely outrageous.
Thankfully this will likely be overturned on appeal, but who in their right mind would think that it is okay to treat a child this way when they try to confide in you?

You know the best part about a mass spiritual ascension?
The art gets better.

The more time I spend meditating on the core of human behavior, the more it tends to break down to some very basic rules for life:
Don't Panic. On a long enough time scale, everything will always be alright eventually.
Be Kind, because you don't know what's going on, and everybody else has about as much idea what's going on as you do, so you might as well hedge your spiritual bets by extending the benefit of the doubt.
The Weak should not be burdened or sacrificed to serve the Strong.
Help other life when you see it in distress, and try to extend this to as much life as possible (a person is a person no matter how small.)
Respect the weirdness and personal uniqueness of others as the spice of life. You can't have cultural variety or move the intellectual ball of civilization forward without weird people.
Don't bother your neighbors about their sexual proclivities/activities so long as they are both consensual and done in appropriate spaces where children won't accidentally see them.
All belief is Dumbo's Feather, therefore choice of spiritual symbolism or use of spiritual totem objects is irrelevant so long as the practitioner's intention is for the highest good of all. Do not bother people about their personal religious, spiritual, or magical practices so long as they are kind to their neighbors and their practice is done in the spirit of kindness.
Above all Be Kind.
That's generally the overall vibe I'm getting from what I'd call "The Source" these days.
People really need to loosen up and embrace other people as they are a lot more, because nobody is going anywhere, and the advancement of technology is going to put everyone out of non-voluntary work eventually, so we'll have to figure out what exactly the point of being human actually is once we don't have any "lack" based arguments to have with each other.
Jordan Peterson once said humanity would get bored in Heaven and start breaking the furniture, but I think this is rather pessimistic.
It sounds very much like the Joker's speech at the end of The Dark Knight.
Personally I'd like to have more faith in humanity than that.

All of this is to say, if you want to embody the Tree of Life, try to slow down and think like an Ent every once in awhile.

| 12 | That's not to say that that advocacy can't be loud and angry, but crossing the line of that, as we've seen with the 2020 riots, tends to create an equal but opposite response towards the right, and now the right is pushing the envelope with authoritarian behavior just as the left did before he got there.
The best you can do is to try to lean into the absurdity of the situation, try to laugh in the face of trying time, and try to cheer up those who can't see that far down the road.
Things are ultimately going to be fine on this planet.
Birth pangs are natural when the human race is in the process of birthing a new world for itself.

It should also be noted that, as stated before, history comes in waves, and just as the overall stock market trends generally upwards over time while having periodic dips in value (and with the occasional crash,) historical progress works much the same way; think of it as "three steps forward, one step back."
Utopia overnight would be a bit much to expect, however with the pace of technological advancement we are going to inevitably move towards an economic model where most production is automated; whether that be food or manufactured goods.
At that point we're going to be forced to figure out some form of distributional economy that doesn't result in homeless vets on the street corner and where everybody is respected simply for being there, because it's not like the people are going away, and they are all still going to need food, shelter and basic life necessities. Also, the fact of the matter is that we already throw out gigantic amounts of food simply because we still feel the need to have physical places to go to have our food displayed to us instead of stored until needed or produced on the spot like deli bread. That doesn't even take into account the food we throw away because we keep it at our house instead of order the amount we need exactly when we need it and, say, have a drone deliver it.
At some point we have to remember that the entire point of civilization in the first place was to get out of the fields and back to the garden.
You can still make cool things and trade things and build a name for yourself in a garden, but it should always be about the people in it, otherwise why bother banding together as a group in the first place? Civilization is a fight against what the Bible called the curse of nature. Essentially, the curse of living in a disorganized jungle until you can figure out how to reconstruct the garden yourselves.
That's at least the ideal of a perfect civilization.
Like I said, it won't come overnight, which is where the more extreme elements of the left have been getting impatient in recent history, whereas the right has been stubborn because they still retain that "protestant work ethic" thing from childhood that makes them feel like capitalism is an article of religious faith, even if it's causing insane amounts of wealth and power to accrue in a tiny amount of hands while people struggle to make ends meet at the bottom.
Hell, even a lot of billionaires say it's time for some sort of wealth tax.
Did it ever occur to you how you got convinced to say no to those people?
I mean, I never even wanted to be a billionaire; it sounds like a lot of work. So why would that affect any of us?
It's a relative handful of people within each country that have that kind of power. I see no issue with considering that power an antitrust issue and simply lowering their level of wealth as opposed to taking it all. Taking it all would be the reflexively anarchistic way to handle it, however this kind of thinking tends towards "get-evenism" of the style endemic to things like the French Revolution, and it's easier just cap it at some arbitrary number at or above one billion dollars just so they can retain the title of "billionaire" and retain face.
Really, the mission I see moving forward is to slowly advance the ball of the idea of a wealth cap that is high enough that it doesn't discourage competition and the idea of rewarding the seeking of prowess, mastery and prestige positive public goods while still fundamentally limiting the ability of those with extreme wealth to concentrate power moving forward.
Thinking in big picture format like this tends to de-radicalize knee jerk responses on both sides, as none of these things are achievable from where we are at by any other means than slow advocacy. | 47 |
| 14 | ๐
It should be stated that this applies equally to the left and the right, even though I am particularly miffed at the right at the moment for obvious reasons.
It's still important to take a breath sometimes and remind one's self that they are dealing with other human beings who are just as confused as you or anybody else about what's going on.
Everybody gets dumped here naked and afraid and scrabbling in the dirt looking for answers; and at some point we all got told that we have a ticking clock over our heads that is running out, so we hyper-focus on acquiring resources in order to sustain ourselves; and then at some point we got told that there isn't enough, so we hyper-focus on acquiring power in order to sustain our access to resources.
After generations of this kind of thinking it becomes a sort of entrenched cargo-cult culture based around the acquisition of money and power in order to feel more "secure" than the next guy, but at the root of it is that same childhood fear of lack and powerlessness in all of us.
A lot of societal problems could be solved if enough people took a deep breath, stopped arguing with each other and collectively decided that they choose not to have a ticking clock over their head, that they are not powerless so long as they can stand up and say something, and that there is more than enough to go around without simply making everyone equally poor.

What do you choose to see when you look at other people?
Monsters?
Scared children who cling to wealth and power because at heart they are afraid of the "Monsters" of Powerlessness, Lack, Fear of Missing Out, and ultimately Death?
Monsters aren't real, but children who are afraid of monsters are, and some children never grow out of their childhood fears.
Some people simply get stuck on the path. You are there to help them.
Justice must be balanced with Mercy.
What do you choose to see when you look at other people?
