Militao sidelined after groin issue in Brazil friendly
Real Madrid said on Wednesday that Eder Militao has been diagnosed with a groin muscle injury. The club did not indicate how long he will be out.
The defender was forced off during Brazil’s 1-1 draw with Tunisia after experiencing sharp pain.
Local media estimate an absence of about two weeks, which would see him miss La Liga games with Elche and Girona plus the Champions League match at Olympiacos.

Arsenal to cut ties with Rwanda sleeve sponsorship
Arsenal will not renew their “Visit Rwanda” partnership after this season, according to the Rwanda Development Board.
The sponsorship, running for eight seasons, drew scrutiny as violence surged in eastern DR Congo, where Kigali faces accusations of aiding the M23 militia.
The conflict has caused widespread suffering despite recent ceasefire and peace moves.
Fan protests erupted in April over the deal, which placed the Visit Rwanda logo on Arsenal’s shirt sleeves.
Rwanda said the partnership ends by mutual agreement and noted it still works with PSG, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid.

Barcelona set date for Camp Nou comeback after two-year rebuild
Barça will return to their rebuilt Camp Nou on November 22 for a La Liga match with Athletic Bilbao, ending a two-year spell at Montjuic caused by a €1.5bn renovation.
The stadium opens a year late and will operate at a temporary capacity of 45,401 until construction lifts it to 105,000.
A 23,000-fan training session this month served as a test event.
The club is also awaiting UEFA approval to host Eintracht Frankfurt there on December 9 in the Champions League.
Due to safety issues, Barcelona opened the season with two matches at their 6,000-seat Johan Cruyff stadium.
The old Camp Nou, built in 1957, previously held 99,000 spectators.

Must-win Hampden clash as Scotland bid to reach first World Cup since 1998
Scotland’s defeat in Greece wasn’t fatal thanks to Belarus earning a shock draw in Denmark. A win over the Danes now secures top spot.
Pundits say Scotland must rediscover the energy, pressing and forward runs that were missing early on in Piraeus.
Clarke is expected to keep his shape but may switch personnel, with McKenna and Adams likely to start. Gilmour’s fitness remains uncertain.
Denmark travel under scrutiny following a poor display, boos from home fans and a stomach bug in camp.
McFadden and Dodds believe Hampden’s noise and Scotland’s belief can carry them through what feels like a “now or never” night.

Spain close to World Cup spot as Belgium made to wait
Spain moved to the brink of World Cup qualification with a dominant 4–0 win over Georgia, featuring a brace from Mikel Oyarzabal. Martin Zubimendi and Ferran Torres also scored as Spain kept their perfect record: 19 goals scored, none conceded.
Turkey beat Bulgaria 2–0 but would need a seven-goal win in Spain on Tuesday to steal top spot.
Belgium missed their chance to qualify after a 1–1 draw in Kazakhstan. They fell behind early but equalised through Hans Vanaken. They remain top of Group J with 15 points and face bottom-placed Liechtenstein next.
Austria beat Cyprus 2–0 thanks to two goals from Marko Arnautovic and are close to their first World Cup since 1998.

Gabon boss prepares special plan to stop Nigeria’s Osimhen
Gabon coach Thierry Mouyouma says stopping Victor Osimhen will require “a completely different approach” as his side prepares to face Nigeria in the 2026 World Cup playoff.
“He’s unpredictable, powerful, and loves making runs behind the defense,” Mouyouma said. “Even if you stop that, he’ll hurt you on set pieces. That’s what makes him such a complete striker.”
Osimhen has been in prolific form, scoring six goals in five World Cup qualifiers and a hat-trick in Nigeria’s 4–0 win over Benin. Mouyouma added that Gabon will focus on slowing the tempo, defending deeper when needed, and forcing the game into Nigeria’s half to reduce the striker’s influence.

Messi open to 2026 World Cup but says he’ll play only if fit to contribute
Lionel Messi says he’s not ruling out playing in the 2026 World Cup but insists he’ll only join Argentina if he’s physically capable of helping the team.
“I want to feel well and be sure I can contribute. I don’t want to be a burden,” Messi said in an interview with Sport.
He admitted that MLS’s off-season timing could make his preparation tricky, adding he’ll assess his fitness “day by day.” The 39-year-old World Cup winner says the decision will come closer to the tournament.

Yamal Out of Spain Duty as Barça–La Roja Tension Escalates
Barcelona have ruled Lamine Yamal out of Spain’s World Cup qualifying games after giving him radiofrequency treatment for a groin hernia.
Spain expected him to report for duty and say Barça didn’t inform them of the procedure until late Monday night.
Yamal, who played heavy minutes in recent matches, now faces up to a week of rest.
Rayo’s Jorge de Frutos replaces him, while the dispute adds to previous conflicts between Hansi Flick’s staff and Luis de la Fuente over player workloads.
