🅾️Definition of a Public Servant.
⚜️IPC Section 21: Does not automatically include MLAs/MPs as public servants because they are not "in the service or pay of the government" in the traditional employee sense (Supreme Court interpretation).
⚜️Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA): Explicitly includes MLAs and MPs to prevent graft.
⚜️POCSO Act: Uses the IPC definition by default if not specified otherwise.
🌟A case where public might feel that those with political capital can navigate the legal system differently than the common man. It shows how legal rationality (This is what Weber says in sociology) can sometimes lead to what feels like substantive injustice (the suspending of a sentence despite a serious conviction).

🅾️Central argument : personal chemistry between leaders (Modi-Trump, Modi-Xi) and optical victories (hosting summits) do not automatically translate into strategic or economic benefits. The world has become transactional, and "Soft Power" (Vishwaguru image) is failing against "Hard Power" realities (tariffs, border incursions).
🔰Reasons :
🅾️1. National Interest trumps Personal Relations- despite the "Trump-Modi" bond, US imposed 25% tariffs on Indian goods and a surcharge on Russian oil imports
🅾️2. India’s neighborhood policy is struggling -

🅾️What?- Every digital action leaves a residual trace. When aggregated, these traces form behavioural evidence, even if each data point appears trivial in isolation. Modern policing increasingly relies on this digital exhaust to reconstruct intent, movement, and networks.
⚠️Common sources:
💡 Authentication data: OTPs, login alerts, device verification
💡 Transactional data: food orders, cab bookings, e-commerce purchases
💡 Communication metadata: WhatsApp timestamps, IP logs, device IDs
💡 Location signals: app-based location history, toll FASTag alerts
⚠️ Note : UPSC may frame this as “privacy erosion”. The correct framing is regulated digital evidence use.. You should not think that this is unchecked surveillance.

⚜️SHANTI does not solve India’s nuclear challenge; it re-prices risk to unblock investment. Whether this aids nuclear development depends on whether capacity expansion is matched with fuel-cycle sovereignty, waste management, and regulatory credibility.

⚠️Problem : The Consumer Protection Act, 2019 mandates disposal within 3 months (no testing) or 5 months (with testing).Fast resolution lowers transaction costs and corrects market asymmetry between consumers and sellers.If timelines are not met, consumer forums lose credibility and disputes shift back to civil courts or informal coercion.
🔰Take away : Until adjudicatory capacity, appointments, and procedural discipline are aligned with statutory ambition, speedy justice will remain a legislative promise rather than a lived reality.
