Stopped importing Russian crude oil into our SEZ refinery with effect from 20 November
From 1 December, all product exports from the SEZ refinery will be obtained from non-Russian crude oil
What It Means?
SEZ – largely export oriented unit – will not process Russian crude
DTA – largely caters to domestic market – will process Russian crude
RIL has capacity of around 1.4 mbpd, largely even between SEZ and DTA
Uses 40% of Russian Crude
Impact
Russian crude discounts have slipped to $1-1.5/bbl now
While refining margins globally are high
Even if it loses out on some discounts, it will make up much more by exporting globally
