🗞 What's new
😠 Users and developers complain about bugs and oddities in iOS 18.4
A number of users online have reported that after updating to the now available iOS 18.4, apps that were previously uninstalled have been installed on their iPhones. In addition, developers complain about bugs in iOS 18.4 with apps that work unstably or even fail.🇺🇸 Tim Cook sold 108,136 shares worth $24 million and Trump's new tariffs hit the company's stock
As Bloomberg reports, the new huge (in some scenarios up to 54%) trade duties announced by U.S. President Donald Trump for China, Taiwan, India, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and other countries negates one of the reasons Apple has been diversifying outside of China. The company has significant facilities and factories in all of the countries listed above that could be affected by the new duties.🔧 New beta versions of iOS 18.5 are now available to developers
Nothing special yet, they're slightly changing the shapes of buttons or sliders (as usual).@iPhone #iOS #AppleInc #finance

📞 Apple calls on NVIDIA for help
Apple has ordered $1 billion worth of NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 systems.
💰 Apple and NVIDIA continue to converge on many projects and now, according to analysts at Loop Capital, the Cupertinos are ordering 250 of the most powerful server systems with multiple GPUs, each costing $4 million. They are particularly suited for demanding tasks such as generative AI, high-performance computing, LLM models with reasoning skills and graphics file generation.
🍎 The exact purpose of this computing power is unknown, training Apple Intelligence and Siri may be just one purpose, although this may be due to the difficulties Cupertino has had in developing a new LLM Siri.
🤫 Nevertheless, the servers could also be for other Apple cloud projects, which are being kept secret for now.

📰 @DailyApple news from Mark Gurman
⌚️ 1. The first headline is loud enough
On the one hand, the ads about smart Siri is removed from all resources, on the other hand, Apple is considering the possibility of turning the watch into a wearable AI device with cameras.
🔎 According to the source Apple is working on a version of its smartwatch (both standard and ultra models) that will be equipped with cameras that will facilitate the expansion of the company’s “visual intelligence” features that are currently only available on the latest model of iPhone. With the standard Apple Watch, the camera would be embedded within the display, similar to an iPhone. It’s unclear if this would utilize under display-tech, or if this’ll necessitate a camera cutout. With the Ultra, the company plans on embedding it on the side of the watch, next to the digital crown and side button. Apple is likely doing this because they have more space to work with. Gurman says that Ultra users would have an easier time pointing their wrist at things to scan.🗺 2. Apple shuffles AI executive ranks in bid to turn around Siri As it was predicted by @iPhone somebody has to answer where was the expected more smart Siri lost. Well, Apple is trying to find the answer among the company's team:
Apple Inc. has started this week with a rare shake-up of its executive ranks, aiming to get its AI efforts back on track after months of delays and stumbles. CEO Tim Cook is not happy with John Giannandrea to execute on product development, so he’s moving over another top executive to help: Vision Pro creator Mike Rockwell. In a new role, Rockwell will be in charge of the Siri virtual assistant. Rockwell will report to software chief Craig Federighi, removing Siri completely from Giannandrea’s command.📱 3. Almost iPhone 16e's younger cousin Apple’s iPhone 16e has made a grand entrance with its $600 offering of all the best parts of the iPhone 16 for a less price. This month, it’s Google’s turn with the Pixel 9a. For $500, you get a Google device with all the best parts of the Pixel 9 (plus all that Gemini stuff Google wants you to use). @iPhone #AppleInc #iPhone #AppleWatch

🐌 New smart HomePod with a display has been delayed
New gadget is delayed until the second half of 2025 due to a redesign of the systems.
🍎 Previously, Chinese analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that mass production of the new 'HomePad' device would be pushed back to the third quarter of this year (after WWWDC25) due to software development issues, and particularly Apple Intelligence.
📱 However, as Kuo clarified, the launch challenge now also includes ensuring that the device interface is aligned with new system designs (like iOS 19) that are due to launch in the second half of the year.
➰ This alignment is necessary for seamless integration of new products into Apple's ecosystem.

📸 The entire iPhone 17 lineup may get a new 24MP front camera
Earlier sources of insider Jeff Poo assumed that the new selfie camera will get only Pro models, but now the data has been clarified.
The cameras may be as follows:
1️⃣ iPhone 17 'Air' – 24MP front, 48MP rear, like the iPhone 16e.
2️⃣ iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max – front camera 24 MP and all three rear cameras at 48 MP, the distinctive feature of the new cameras - the ability to record 8K video.
ℹ️ The iPhone 17 Pro/17 Pro Max will get 12GB of RAM and an A19 Pro chip, while the thinnest iPhone 17 'Air' will get an A19 chip and presumably only 8GB of RAM.
Improvements in camera performance in the thin iPhone, apparently, will try to achieve with the help of software.

🎧 Translation right in your AirPods
📰 AirPods may get a synchronized translation feature, allowing you to communicate with foreigners in different languages, Bloomberg reports.
📱The AirPods will work with an iPhone that will recognize speech, translate it, and send it to the AirPods.
📆 The feature may come out with iOS 19.
Apple probably won't officially announce it until everything is ready for sure, so that it doesn't turn out like with the 'smart' Siri, that is delayed and delayed, with the company continuing to remove commercials about it from the Internet.
